Fans of Channing Tatum have gotten to see the rising star in a way they've never seen him before as the title character in Magic Mike. Director Steven Soderbergh's male stripper drama has taken in an impressive $77 million at the box office after just over two weeks in theaters.
The natural question is, will there be a sequel? According to the actor, they are working on the story.
"Yes, yes and yes! We're working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger."
The actor's producing partner Reid Carolin wrote the script for Magic Mike, based on Channing Tatum's days as a 19-year-old male stripper in Tampa. It isn't known if Reid Carolin is working on the sequel, or if they plan on bringing new writers in. It's also too early to tell at this point if Steven Soderbergh will be back to direct a follow-up. »

Channing Tatum is a shirtless hit in Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike, which grossed nearly $20m on opening day. Magic Mike opened better than Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, and Ocean's Thirteen, despite an ensemble cast that included George Clooney, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Casey Affleck, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bernie Mac, Al Pacino, Scott Caan, and Andy Garcia. The film is the third Tatum hit this year, following The Vow, with Rachel McAdams, and 21 Jump Street, with Jonah Hill. His only flop in 2012 has been Haywire. Also in the Magic MIke cast: Alex Pettyfer, Olivia Munn, Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, James Martin Kelly, Reid Carolin , Cody Horn, Avery Camp, Adam Rodriguez, Kevin Nash, and Gabriel Iglesias.
