Watch: Tim Roth in New Us Trailer for Michel Franco's Drama 'Chronic'

20 August 2016 9:00 AM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"One, two three..." Monument Releasing has debuted the official Us trailer for a film called Chronic, a drama starring Tim Roth which first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015. Roth plays a home care nurse who works with terminally ill patients at their home, isolating himself from the burdens of his past. The cast includes Elizabeth Tulloch, Michael Cristofer, David Dastmalchian, Tate Ellington, Sarah Sutherland and Claire van der Boom. This looks like it's a very tough film to watch with some complex emotional aspects, but it has played at numerous film festivals and won the Best Screenplay award at Cannes, so there's definitely something to it. As usual, Tim Roth looks outstanding in his role. See below. Here's the official Us trailer (+ poster) for Michel Franco's Chronic, direct from YouTube: The review in Time Out says Roth gives a "delicate performance that exudes a tender kind of chill. »

What an outrageously abundant year it's been for great TV — and we're only halfway through. 2016 has been a small-screen gold rush so far, from low-key comedies to mega-glitz miniseries, the Battle of the Bastards to the City of the Broads, hilarious fake news to horrifying true history — with dragons and spies and crooks and drunks. When two of the year's best shows are totally different takes on the same 1994 murder trial, you know all bets are off.

So here's a salute to the 10 best TV shows of 2016 so far:

How did 'Veep' pull off last night's documentary episode?

20 June 2016 6:00 AM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Last night's Veep was a format-breaking episode presented as the long-gestating documentary Selina's daughter Catherine had been filming all season. It not only detailed the results of the electoral tie-breaker vote in the House of Representatives, but cast new light on a lot of events we had witnessed earlier in the season. I spoke with Veep showrunner David Mandel about how and why they pulled off the documentary episode, coming up just as soon as I make a call from an elementary school classroom... You set up Catherine doing the documentary early in the season. Did you know then that it would become the frame for a whole episode? David Mandel: Yeah. It's a little chicken and the egg, in terms of which part came first. I think I was partially inspired by some of the episodes like the testimony episode, and the interview episode they've done in the past. »

'Veep' Star on the First Daughter's Coming Out and the President's Surprising Reaction

4 June 2016 12:00 PM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

"We figured you'd guessed already — I know it's so obvious," said Catherine Meyer while coming out to her mother on Veep. "Didn't guess, didn't guess ... ah-amazing," stumbled Gary Walsh as Catherine's mother, President Selina Meyer, found herself, for once, at a total loss for words. That interaction perfectly sums up the first daughter, according to Sarah Sutherland, the actress who has played Catherine for five seasons on the Emmy-winning HBO series. Perpetually neglected, slighted and demeaned by her mother, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, it makes perfect sense that as the biggest moment in Catherine's young
