The small town of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Herzegovina has become a source of wonder and mystery after six children claimed to have witnessed apparitions of the Virgin Mary in 1981. Now, millions of people have made pilgrimages to the town to see for themselves. Though skeptics believe the visions to be a hoax, and the Catholic Church has not endorsed the apparitions, many who travel there describe a sense of peace or calm that they have never experienced before.
