Samuel L. Jackson Talks Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Nick Fury’s Approach to Different Characters

19 August 2013 11:22 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

When Captain America: The Winter Soldier comes out in April, Samuel L. Jackson will have been in six of Marvel's eight movies.  As S.H.I.E.L.D. head Nick Fury, he's the glue that can tie any of the movies together.  Fury is the guy who always knows what's going on, and has to be, if not the smartest person in the room, then definitely the most duplicitous.  In The Winter Soldier, Fury will play a major role in navigating/manipulating Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) into the shadowy world of espionage where Captain America's moral compass will be challenged by the complexities of the present day. In a recent interview, Jackson talked about the side of Nick Fury we'll see in The Winter Soldier, how the character interacts with others, his desire to be a presence on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more.  Hit the jump for what he had to say.  Captain America: The Winter Soldier »

Hayley Atwell On Captain America: The Winter Soldier

"It's like going back to a family," said Hayley Atwell on returning to Marvel Studios and working on the Captain America sequel. She continued, "I did a short film, which comes out on the blu-ray for Iron Man 3 in September and there's a hint that she still holds a flame for [Steve], she still pines after him. But the picture of him in her desk is one of early-Steve, skinny-Steve. You get a sense that she loved that, she loved his spirit, his heart and his character. So that's really a nice touch." 'Captain America 2' uses minimal CGI, says Anthony Mackie

15 August 2013 7:55 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Captain America: The Winter Soldier contains minimal CGI effects, according to actor Anthony Mackie.

Mackie, who plays the Falcon in the sequel, praised directors Anthony and Joe Russo for their use of traditional filmmaking techniques on the project.

"The Russos, what they did that was so great was, they wanted to stay with live action, which is a dying art form," Mackie told MTV.

"If they can build it, they built it. If we could do it, we did it. They wanted to do as little CGI as possible. That's why the movie looks so great."

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will see Chris Evans's Steve Rogers team up with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and the Falcon (Mackie) to take on the formidable Winter Soldier.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will arrive in Us cinemas on April 4, 2014 and in the UK on May 2.

by Brett White

Disney's D23 Expo showed a lot of love for Captain America over the weekend. In addition to the debut of Disney's costumed Captain America, the real Cap—Chris Evans—was on-hand to help show off some new footage from next spring's Marvel movie, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

The actor spoke with Collider about his relationships in the new film, considering that it's the first film fully devoted to the time-displaced Steve Rogers. Evans revealed that the most prominent relationship in the film is between Captain America and his Avengers teammate, the Black Widow.

"The whole movie is myself and Black Widow, teaming up," Evans said about his on-screen partnership with the returning Scarlett Johansson. "They are a very unlikely duo. It's kind of an odd couple. We've both been working for someone else for a very long time. She is very morally flexible, Cap's a boy scout. »

An official new synopsis lands for Marvel's upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier...

Marvel has released a brand new synopsis for next year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and just as with this year's Iron Man 3, it's going to be a fairly direct follow-on from last year's The Avengers movie. We pretty much knew that already of course, but it's been ratified here.

The film, which is out next April, brings Chris Evans back to the title role, with the Russo brothers directing. And here's the overview of the film:

"After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve »

Marvel Release New Updated Synopsis For ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

11 August 2013 5:27 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Over the weekend, The Walt Disney Company have held their annual Disney Expo event in Annaheim, California. It’s another chance to showcase their upcoming projects from film and television in the brand names that they’re involved with. One such name is Marvel and of course, the cast and crew of action-adventure Captain America: The Winter Solder were on hand to big-up their blockbusting sequel with more exclusive footage and details.

A brand new plot synopsis was revealed to replace the simple premise used when the project was initially announced. It gives credence to the earlier rumours that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury is in a spot of bother with his corrupt superiors, as well as Chris Evans’ super-soldier Steve Rogers, teaming with Scarlett Johansson’s ass-kicking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff (aka The Black Widow) in an effort to seek the truth and help him out.
