Members of the U.K. film and TV industry are calling for an overhaul of on-set safety measures and a “recalibration” of how to protect survivors of abuse following reports of multiple allegations of sexual harassment and bullying against Noel Clarke during his decades-long career as an actor, writer and producer.
Since The Guardian released its investigation into the star, best known for his roles in “Doctor Who” and “Bulletproof,” as well as creating “The Hood” film trilogy, 26 people have come forward with accusations against him. Clarke has categorically denied any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing, but released a statement apologizing for some of his actions.
The revelations have emboldened industry insiders to speak out about a culture that has allowed professional misconduct to continue, even after the Time’s Up movement swept the film and TV world four years ago with the #MeToo reckoning sparked by the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

BBC News is reporting that a third party has reported sexual offenses by a man to police following recent claims against actor Noel Clarke.
Police said they were assessing the information, which was reported on April 21. A third party report in the UK is anonymous, so the allegation cannot be investigated by the police. However, they can be compared with other reports against the same person.
This latest information comes after 20 women have accused Clarke of sexual harassment and bullying. He has “vehemently” denied any sexual misconduct or criminal wrongdoing.
“On Wednesday, 21 April, police received a third party report relating to allegations of sexual offences allegedly committed by a male over a period of time,” the Met Police said in a statement.

A report has been filed with London’s Met Police relating to sexual misconduct allegations against British actor Noel Clarke.
Met Police confirmed that they received a third party report on April 21 relating to allegations of sexual offenses by a man. Police are assessing the information, but an investigation is not currently underway.
A statement shared with Variety reads: “On Wednesday, 21 April, police received a third party report relating to allegations of sexual offenses allegedly committed by a male over a period of time.”
According to the BBC, an anonymous third party report can’t be investigated by police; however, it can be used as intelligence for cross-referencing against other reports against the same individual.
It’s still unclear who made the initial report to police.
The embattled Clarke is facing numerous sexual misconduct, harassment and bullying allegations from at least 20 women who worked with the actor-producer in a professional setting.

Marvel has been training fans since 2008 to pay attention to every little detail. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that fans are pretty convinced the fake “Spider-Man 3” titles the cast dropped ahead of the film’s real title reveal might still contain real clues about the movie.
Tom Holland’s third solo Spider-Man film will be called “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” But the day before announcing that title, the stars trolled fans on social media by posting some amusing fake titles: Holland joked the film would be called “Spider-Man: Phone Home”; Jacob Batalon claimed it was “Spider-Man: Home Wrecker”; and Zendaya posted “Spider-Man: Home Slice.”
Though these titles may not have been real, fans aren’t so sure that there’s nothing to be learned from them. In fact, quite a lot of fans are convinced that the colors of each one are indicative of the film’s villain.

A young couple enjoying a night alone together. Dinner, romance, the promise of good times. A knock at the door. It's a man who claims that he has pizza to deliver. Liv (Atala Arce) is alone when she answers the door, boyfriend Chuck (Jake Taylor) in another room and unable to hear her. We've already seen the pizza delivery man walking along carrying a bag of severed heads so we know how this is going to end, don't we? No. We really don't.
Chop Chop is one of those film that presents a real challenge to reviewers because of its multiple twists, with a narrative that is dramatically restructured more than once. It slips between the horror and crime genres with ease but also has elements of comedy and romance. Throughout, it is very much its own creature. The tricks it plays never destroy the mood and director Rony Patel never.

Numerous genre films over the years have taken advantage of the trope involving a psychopath out on a rampage meeting up with someone or something far deadlier and more dangerous than they are. These have ranged from efforts like “Don’t Breathe to Bone Sickness” and even this year’s British home invasion effort “The Owners”. Now, newcomer Rony Patel puts his own spin on the formula with the new cross-genre effort Chop Chop, arriving on VOD platforms for rent or own October 20th through Gravitas Ventures.
Settling in for a home-cooked meal, Chuck (Jake Taylor) and his girlfriend Liv (Atala Arce) are unaware of what lies ahead for them until a bizarre pizza delivery-man arrives at their house. Netflix's latest release danced its way into our hearts, and now we're looking for a repeat performance with a sequel. Work It, starring Sabrina Carpenter, Liza Koshy, and Jordan Fisher, is basically the Gen Z answer to dance classics like Bring It On and Step Up, and just like those iconic franchises, it deserves all the follow-ups it can churn out!
The film follows a high school senior, Quinn Ackerman (Carpenter), as she creates a dance squad after her school's top-notch dance team - the Thunderbirds, led by a pink-haired Keiynan Lonsdale - rejects her because she is severely lacking in rhythm. Since the dance team has all the well-known dancers, Quinn and her best friend Jas (Koshy) have to branch out and nab the "diamonds in the rough," aka the people who don't audition for the Thunderbirds. They round up a lovable - but not truly fleshed out...

Jordan Fisher got quite emotional when he saw the poster for his new Netflix coming-of-age comedy “Work It” because the cast is so diverse. Of the nine actors featured on the poster, seven are people of color. “It literally made me shed a tear,” the actor, who is multiethnic, says on this week’s episode of the Variety and iHeart podcast “The Big Ticket,”, adding, “I love to see the way that America is shaped now.”
The movie, which premiered on the streamer today, stars Sabrina Carpenter as Quinn, a high school senior who must form a dance team in time for the big championship competition in hopes of impressing a college admissions officer (Michelle Buteau). Quinn enlists a friend (Liza Koshy) to pull together a rainbow assortment of amateur dancers. Fisher plays Jake Taylor, a former dancer — his career ended when he tore his Acl — who helps get the crew into shape.

Once in a weird while, a movie mimics the flaws — and charms — of its protagonist’s journey to an uncanny degree. Like high schooler Quinn Ackermann, a two-left-footer who does a crash course in dancing in order to get into her first-choice college, “Work It” often feels like it too crammed in hopes a becoming a hit. Directed by Laura Terruso and written by Alison Peck (Alicia Keys is a producer), this fairly routine dance-off outing streams on Netflix starting Aug. 7.
Disney Channel-crafted pop star Sabrina Carpenter leads a cast packed with amiable lovelies, including Liza Koshy as best friend Jas, Josh Taylor as Quinn’s love interest, and Keiynan Lonsdale as the haughty head of the high school’s championship dance team.
A straight-a student, Quinn wants to attend her deceased father’s alma mater, Duke University, aka “the Harvard of the South.” On a campus visit, she...

“Work It” knows its angles: Early in Laura Terruso’s fun-but-forgettable high school dance competition movie, one of its more engaging stars makes a joke about hopping into a time machine to scoop up a young Channing Tatum. If only! Tatum, of course, got his Hollywood start in his very own high school dance competition movie, “Step Up,” which not only launched his career but also a robust, multi-platform franchise. Terruso’s film isn’t exactly trying to be the next “Step Up,” but it winks toward one of the genre’s most popular entries and works overtime to keep pace.
Funnily enough, though, “Work It” is While there is comfort in the familiar, there’s also boredom, and anyone who has seen even one film centered on high schoolers dancing it up and making their way in the world will know exactly where “Work It” is going. The expectations...

Falling Inn Love is the latest addition to Netflix's rapidly growing list of original, feel-good romantic comedies. It's as delightful as you would expect, and is a modern take on the tried-and-true formula of a city girl taking on the country life. In short, it has everything our sappy little heart desires.
Starring Christina Milian, Falling Inn Love tells the story of Gabriela Diaz; a city girl, who loses her job and dumps her truly awful boyfriend all in one day. After a brief existential crisis, she spontaneously enters a competition to "win an inn" - aka renovating the dilapidated Bellbird Valley Farm - and wins. Then, in what seems like a single day, she packs up her life in San Francisco to move halfway across the world to a small town in rural New Zealand.
After realizing the old fixer-upper is too big of a job for one person,...
