New poster and trailer for sci-fi 'found footage' film Area 51 Confidential

A New poster and the first full trailer have been unveiled for Zeroinside Films' new sc-fi found footage project Area 51 Confidential.

The movie sees people from various walks of life held captive outside a secret government installation rumoured to contain extraterrestrial life. A teaser trailer was unveiled in May 2011.

The found footage subgenre - in which a movie is presented as an amateur video recording of actual events - has previously been thrust into the spotlight by such films as Paranormal Activity, Quarantine, Cloverfield and perhaps most famously by The Blair Witch Project.

This latest production is presented under the guise of a "military training video for new hires at the facility known as Area 51."

It follows the plight of a handful of individuals - a broadcast journalist, a documentarian, a teenage girl from Roswell, an army Colonel, and a man who had previously been thought "missing" for

Area 51 Confidential to Premiere in Las Vegas and Oklahoma City

Let's say you're a filmmaker. And let's say you make a film about a certain secret military base that happens to be in Nevada. What better place to premiere that movie than right up the road in Sin City? And that's exactly what the people behind Area 51 Confidential intend to do.

Described as The Blair Witch Project meets Alien, Area 51 Confidential looks to be a really tense suspense film in the vein of Blair Witch but with the whole interplanetary thing worked in. And now they're going to unleash this project on the world.

Area 51 Confidential will be in Las Vegas during the Black October Art and Film Invasion. Although the schedule is not set in stone yet, the festival runs from October 7-9, and Area 51 Confidential will air sometime during the event.

And, not to be outdone, Oklahoma City also has a screening planned. (Maybe
