Carlos Campo was born on September 5, 1958 in Miami Beach, Florida, USA as Carlos Alejandro Campo. He has been married to Karen Leigh Walker since June 2, 1980. They have three children.

The UNLV Foundation in Las Vegas honored his dissertation, Friendship in Arthur Miller, as the Dissertation of the Year. [1993]
Recognized as Outstanding Educator by the Clark County (Nevada) Commission, Educator of the Year by the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce, and was given the Champion of Education Award by the National Latin Business Association. [2007]
He was one of the lead vocalists (as Kiko Campo) in the 1980s Christian band "911", which included his sisters, Cathi Campo (as Cathi Demman) and Cristina Stretz, and his brother-in-law Eric Stretz. 911 released their only album "Time Will Tell" in 1986.
