Maleficent 2 sets spring start date with Angelina Jolie returning

It looks like Maleficent 2 is officially a go, with Omega Underground reporting that Walt Disney Pictures has set an April start date for the sequel to the 2014 live-action fantasy.

Given the apparent collapse of Universal’s Dark Universe and its planned Bride of Frankenstein movie, for which Jolie had long been courted, it seems the actress is now locked in to reprise her role as the Sleeping Beauty antagonist, with Joachim Ronning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directing.

According to the site, pre-production is now underway, and cameras will start rolling on April 16th in London, with the shoot running through to August.

The first Maleficent movie, directed by Robert Stromberg, saw Jolie starring alongside Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Lesley Manville and Brenton Thwaites. As yet, there’s no word on any other cast members for the sequel, nor

Rumour: Trigon to appear in live-action Teen Titan series

According to TitansPodcast, the demonic Trigon could be set to make an appearance in DC’s upcoming live-action Titans series, with the site uncovering a casting breakdown which seems to suggest the Teen Titans villain could be set for a major role in the show’s season finale.

According to the outlet, the show is looking to cast a male in his late 30s-40s, who is described as a charismatic cult leader attempting to reunite his family, and will appear in two episodes before playing a central role in the finale.

Now, it’s possible that the breakdown could refer to a different character entirely, but as the site notes, the official description for Raven made reference to her being “the daughter of a demon”, suggesting that her relationship with Trigon could factor into the show. Further supporting this is the fact that the show is looking to cast Arella,

First Look At Hawk And Dove In New Titans Photo

Following the reveal earlier this month of Brenton Thwaites in costume as Dick Grayson Aka Robin, another first look from DC’s upcoming Titans TV series has landed – this time revealing two superheroes for the price of one.

The image below shows us how superhero duo Hawk and Dove will appear on screen. Under that red and white helmet is Alan Ritchson (Smallville‘s Aquaman), who’s playing Hank Hall, and beside him and hidden behind those oversized goggles is Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dawn Granger, Hank’s crime-fighting (and romantic) partner.

Similar to Thwaites’ Robin outfit, Hawk and Dove look fairly close to their comic book counterparts, only with the colour schemes toned down and the skin-tight unitards swapped for more protective armour. You can see how the characters look on the page for comparison purposes in the gallery below.

Rumour: Titans series looking to cast Batman and a young Robin

If a new casting breakdown from That Hashtag Show is to be believed, it looks like DC’s live-action Teen Titans series Titans is looking to cast Bruce Wayne and a young Dick Grayson, presumably for flashback scenes.

The site has uncovered two casting notices for recurring guest stars, which have the following descriptions:

“[Young John Crossland] Male, Caucasian, To play 10-13, athletic, lean, approximately 5’0″ and not afraid of heights.”

“[Dave Story] Male, mid 30s-40s, Caucasian. The downfalls of others only make this man stronger. Polished. Unwavering. Think a young Jack Nicholson.”

Now, it’s entirely possible these are two completely different characters, or perhaps that ‘John Crossland’ is another incarnation of Robin, such as Tim Drake, who has succeeded Brenton ThwaitesDick Grayson as the Boy Wonder.

That being said, it has been reported that the Flying Graysons could make an appearance in the series, so it’s certainly not beyond the realm

Did The Flash Just Set Up A Way For Kid Flash To Appear On Titans?

The Flash fans were left up in arms when Kid Flash himself, Wally West, suddenly announced that he was leaving Central City at the end of episode 3. He’s turned up a couple of times since then, notably for the first part in last week’s “Crisis on Earth-x”, but right now. it doesn’t look like he’s coming back to the series full time at any point. While this might sound like a big shame, there could be a silver lining, as it’s possible that Kid Flash might be turning up on another upcoming DC TV show instead.

In The Flash‘s midseason finale, “Don’t Run,” Wally was absent from the West family Christmas festivities. When Harry inquires about his location, Joe mentions that his son is in Cambodia. On the surface, there’s nothing odd about that. After all, we know that Wally is on a journey of self discovery,
