Betsy Brown(IV)
- Actress
Betsy has been acting on the stage for most of her life, all through
high school and college, followed by 30 years in New Jerssey community
theatre, until she finally made her debut in professional theatre at
age 55. After taking early retirement from her job in University
administration, she enjoyed some years of fairly constant performance
on various professional stages in North Carolina, with leading roles in
such plays as Driving Miss Daisy, On Golden Pond, Steel Magnolias,
Three Tall Women, and Last Night of Ballyhoo. Growing up in a small
Georgia town, and then living in Massachusetts and New Jersey for 20
years before moving to North Carolina, she has a rather distinctive
accent (mostly Southern but she can vary it a good bit!), and she's
very interested in voiceover work. Betsy has enjoyed working in
numerous films produced as MFA theses by students at UNCG and at the NC
School of the Arts. and most recently, in Careful What You Wish For.
