Josean Rivera Vaquer was born in San Juan, PR. He
attended Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola, where he was mentored by
thespian, Father Francis Golden. Rivera was awarded a full scholarship
to attend the summer intensive Theatreworks program at the University
of Iowa. Upon high school graduation, Josean studied Theatre and
Journalism at Indiana University. Rivera continued his college studies
in Puerto Rico at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, where he studied
Communications with a concentration in Film and T.V. Production. He
graduated Magna Cum Laude. Josean continued his acting studies in NYC
studying the Meisner Technique under James Price (Mr. Meisner's
protegé) as well as Acting Technique and Scene Study under Zenon
Kruszelnicki (One of Poland's finest acting teacher's). He has also
received voice training with Debra Hale and Mary Workman as well as
singing lessons with Ana Marta Arraiza. During his time in New York,
Rivera worked as a comedy writer for Cory Kahaney (Last Comic Standing
1st runner up). He is currently Chief Creative Officer of The Barefoot
Film Company (film production company in Puerto Rico). Josean executive
produced, co-wrote and acted in the feature film "Elite". As of late,
Rivera has also landed acting roles in two more features ("The Witness"
directed by Andrés Ramírez and "Mi Verano Con Amanda 2" directed by
Benji Lopez) both of which are expected to hit Puerto Rican theatres
early fall 2011. At the moment he is in the process of writing three
features (comedies). He has also signed to act in all of them.
