Edward Charlton qualified as a lawyer in the City of London before becoming a banker. He continued his career at Hambros Bank and subsequently held directorships at Banque Paribas, Henry Ansbacher & Co. and HSBC. Whilst CEO of Banque Internationale à Luxembourg in London, he set up the Films Group and was responsible for financing a number of films including Gosford Park. During his career he has held a wide range of outside directorships, trusteeships and consultancies in the media, leisure, sports, IT, entertainment and hedge fund sectors, including Chairing the Board of the publicly-quoted Diligent Corporation. Eddie spent 6 years in Formula 1 as the Senior Independent Director at Williams Grand Prix Holdings plc and was a Non-Executive Director of Sportfolio Trading. He is currently Chairman of Tap Films Limited.
He was the Executive Producer on the highly acclaimed film Archipelago, directed by Joanna Hogg, prior to being an Executive Producer on Netflix's The English Game, which he developed with Julian Fellowes.
