Danielle Harris’ Among Friends Acquired for Us Distribution

It has been announced that Danielle Harris’ directorial debut, Among Friends, has been acquired by Grindstone Entertainment and will be released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment:

“Grindstone Entertainment has picked up Us rights to Three Little Birds Productions’ Among Friends, the directorial debut of veteran scream queen Danielle Harris (Halloween, The Last Boy Scout), and it will be released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

The deal was brokered by Aspect/Chiller CEO Hugh Edwards and Grindstone’s Head of Acquisitions Stan Wertlieb.

“As a longtime fan of Danielle Harris, I eagerly anticipated her directorial debut; and she has really made a disturbing horror statement. One to remember and take note of,” says Wertlieb.

Veteran Scream Queen Danielle Harris’s first directing gig, Among Friends has secured a Us distribution deal with Lionsgate Home Entertainment.

Spanish Film Hidden in the Woods to be Remadeby Blanc Biehn Productions

Blanc Biehn Productions has announced that they’re producing the English language remake of filmmaker Patricio Valladares’ ‘En Las afueras de la Ciudad’ (‘Hidden in the Woods’). Michel Biehn will star in the remake, which will see Valladares returning at the helm. ‘Hidden in the Woods’ will be written by Valladares and Andrea Cavaletto, the original film’s scribes and creators. Biehn and Jennifer Blanc Bihn will produce ‘Hidden in the Woods,’ which will begin production at the end of 2012 in Chile. Michael Biehn to Produce, Star in Remake of Hidden in the Woods

Since forming Blanc Biehn Productions, Michael Biehn and his wife, Jennifer Blanc Biehn, have been busy lining up new projects. The Victim is set to be released in September, Treachery just finished filming, and it has been announced that will be remaking Hidden in the Woods:

(Montreal, Canada) July 30th, 2012 — After premiering their new thriller The Victim on July 23rd to rave responses at The Fantasia International Film Festival, Blanc Biehn Productions announced they will be making the English language remake of Patrick Valladares’ “En Las Afueras de la Ciudad” (Hidden in the Woods) which will premiere at The Fantasia International Film Festival on August 6th. Michael Biehn will star in the remake which will be written by original writers and creators of the Spanish version of the film which was shot in Chile by Patricio Valladares and Andrea Cavaletto.
