Andy Fickman ("The Game Plan," "She's The Man") has been set to direct the true-story sports biopic "Kicking Up Dirt" at Affirm Films.
Much like Affirm's "Soul Surfer," this explores the inspirational journey of a female athlete up against the odds. In this case, four-time Women’s Motocross Association champion Ashley Fiolek who was deaf since birth.
Fiolek became the youngest Wma champion at 18, winner of two consecutive X Games gold medals. Kristin Rusk Robinson and Ian Deichtman ("Life As We Know It") are scripting based on Fiolek’s autobiography.
Fickman and Betsy Sullenger are producing.
