- Volunteered for The Cold Reading Series for two years, first at the door and later with the live-on-the-night casting team. CRS is Vancouver's longest running live script reading event supporting local creativity and storytelling in film, TV, web and theatre.
- Was inspired to learn American Sign Language at the age of 13, after seeing Marlee Matlin in the TV series Reasonable Doubts. Learning first from books and videos, then college courses, she earned a certificate in ASL while still a high-school student.
