Majid Bagheri is a skilled director, cinematographer, and film editor who speaks five languages fluently. His work has been shown internationally and has taken him from the peaks of Anatolia to the plains of Asia. His approach to filmmaking is one of activism, focusing on cultural diversity, community development, migration, and climate change awareness. In 2012, he was the film director in residence at the Sirindhorn Anthropology Centre in Bangkok, where he produced impactful documentaries on the rights of the Khmer people in Thailand. In 2014, he worked as the first AD on Turbulence, an independent feature film that premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival. In 2015, he worked as the director of photography on a documentary series aired on Rudaw Media Network in Iraqi Kurdistan. A year later, commissioned by the National University of Singapore, he directed a documentary on the situation of the stateless Dara-ang people in Northern Thailand. In 2017, he founded the first cinema association in Eastern Turkey, dedicated to promoting photography and cinema education among the local population. While in Turkey, he produced several promotional tourism videos for the Eastern Anatolia Development Agency. Majid is a member of the Documentary Organization of Canada and holds a Master of Media Arts from Simon Fraser University.
