Trivia:

Jazz and big band tenor saxophonist in the tradition of Lester Young. Renowned for his 'grooving', swinging style. Played extensively with Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw in the 1940s and 50s. Briefly with Woody Herman's Herd from 1947. Also toured with Stan Kenton and Gerry Mulligan. Co-led a quintet with fellow saxophonist Al Cohn during the 1950s and 60s.
