Mini Bio (1)
A multi talented Spanish film maker, Victor's skills range from directing, visual effects and editing through to acting and marketing. He began to develop a keen eye for film when he was just six years old when he started to make stop motion animation films by borrowing a camera from his brother, who is a photographer and an enormous influence in Victor's life. After seeing Star Wars in the cinema when he was a child, Victor was inspired to explore computer graphics which he became increasingly talented at, so much so that he acquired his first professional job as a graphic designer at the age of 16. He began acting when he joined a drama school in his early teens. While studying performing arts at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Malaga, Spain, he toured the country with the theatre company Lavi E Bel performing the role of Caliban in their production of Shakespeare's The Tempest. After this, Victor studied Commedia dell'Arte and renaissance mask making under Antonio Fava in Italy. He then founded his own theatre company Gestus and won several national awards for the company's improvised play Versus. His interest in film grew when he received a role in the feature film Summer Rain which Antonio Banderas directed. Victor then focused his attention on the film industry and worked in post production, editing and visual effects. He gained an honorary degree (honoris causa) while studying film directing at the International Academy of Image Arts and Sciences in L'Aquila, Italy, which was founded by the renowned cinematographer Vittorio Storaro. During this time, Victor spent some time in Maine (USA) studying visual effects from Steve Wright. While living in L'Aquila, both Victor's home and work studio were completely destroyed in the devastating earthquake of 2009. It was then that he decided to make the move to London for a fresh start focusing purely on VFX. In London, Victor worked with Union VFX as a digital compositor and technical director of the company before moving to Canada to work at IMAX and then go back Cinesite and then on to Double Negative. Victor's credits as a VFX artist include 127 Hours, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -for which he was part of the team who won a BAFTA-, Dark Knight Rises -working with the Academy Award winning team on Inception- and Bourne Legacy amongst others. He is a member of the Visual Effects Society and gives master classes worldwide in Nuke(TM) compositing, color theory, VFX for film makers and regularly publishes on Nukepedia, the most important resource for film compositing worldwide. He was honored by Nukepedia in 2012 when they named him as the 2nd most important contributor of the year. Victor decided to take a step away from VFX in order to dedicate his life to directing. He founded the film production company Masked Frame Pictures where he co-produced the short film Project Kronos which has had an outstanding international response. Victor is a highly ambitious, focused and driven person which is evident from his successes to date.
