Drunk Tyrion Is The Best

18 hours ago | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

The chances of "Game of Thrones'" Sansa Stark getting out of King's Landing may have just disappeared. But if she has to be "wedded and bedded" by someone, better Tyrion than anyone else, especially since he is in no rush to give Tywin more grandkids. Sophie Turner weighs in on even pretending to get married, whether Sansa could learn to love Tyrion, Peter Dinklage's amazing affinity for playing drunk, and her rap sessions with King Joffrey. »

Game of Thrones Season Three - Episode 8 Review

19 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Oliver Davis reviews the eighth episode of Game of Thrones Season Three....

Second Sons.

Directed by Michelle MacLaren.

Written by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

It's the ante-penultimate episode (the one before the one before last). Episode 8 is usually the build-up for the season's main event in Episode 9. In series one, it laid the foundation for Eddard's be-ned-ing. In series two, it preceded the Battle of Blackwater Bay. Series three's teases the Riverlands' version of Kate and Wills, Edmure Tully's wedding to one of Lord Frey's daughters, and is full of subtle glances and looks before the undoubted spectacle of next week's installment.

Tyrion

...and what better to way to foreshadow a wedding than...another wedding? Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) wed Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) in a (literally in so many ways) small, awkward ceremony where everyone hated each other. Cersei (Lena Headey) ended a conversation with her future daughter-in-law, Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), saying, »

Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner on Sansa’s Wedding Day and Drunk Tyrion

20 May 2013 2:00 PM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

The chances of Game of Thrones' Sansa Stark getting out of King's Landing may have just disappeared. But if she has to be "wedded and bedded" by someone, better Tyrion than anyone else, especially since he is in no rush to give Tywin more grandkids. Still, Sophie Turner found it "really weird" to even pretend to get married; in real life, Turner is 17, three years older than Sansa. Vulture rung up the actress the morning after her character's long walk down the aisle, and she weighed in on whether Sansa could learn to love Tyrion, Peter Dinklage's amazing affinity for playing drunk, and her rap sessions with King Joffrey. Drunk Tyrion! He's back!Oh my God, it was so funny. We had such a good time with all of it. Peter did something different every time. He's just a hilarious person to work with. It brought back good »

Game Of Thrones season 3 episode 8 review: Second Sons

19 May 2013 11:46 PM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Review Ron Hogan 20 May 2013 - 07:45

Duty and honour are the themes of this week's masterfully composed Game Of Thrones. Here's Ron's review...

This review contains spoilers.

3.8 Second Sons

When Game of Thrones wants to be creepy, it can be very creepy. This week's episode had an incredibly eerie vibe to it at several times, but nothing seemed quite as unsettling as the wedding of Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark. The entire scene of the wedding, with the assembled dignitaries of both House Lannister and House Tyrell, as well as the small council (minus Littlefinger), were all gathered together in the sept of Baelor in their finest, to watch Sansa Stark march to her ultimate fate. The person who takes it upon himself to walk her down the aisle? None other than Joffrey, who sleazes up to her, takes her arm and reminds her that he's not her father, but »

‘Game Of Thrones’ Recap: Tyrion’s Wedding Ends In Death Threats

19 May 2013 9:32 PM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Plus, Daenerys makes a sexy new ally — and, oh my God, leeches!

I can’t imagine anything more awkward than Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) giving Sansa (Sophie Turner) away at her wedding to Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) — who’s now better known as “the god of t**s and wine” — and yet that’s exactly what happened on the May 19 episode of Game Of Thrones, which also saw the series’ most intense White Walker encounter yet!

Anyway, Tyrion and Sansa’s super-uncomfortable union had all the requirements for a classic Westeros wedding, complete with rape threats and a war of words between Cersei (Lena Headey) and Margaery (Natalie Dormer). Perhaps I could best sum up their interaction with Cersei’s final threat: “If you ever call me sister again, I’ll have you strangled in your sleep.” What. A. Bitch.

Come sex time, Tyrion was so drunk that he could barely stand — classic T! »

'Game of Thrones' Recap: Tyrion Delivers a Shocking Speech

19 May 2013 7:30 PM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

[Warning: spoilers ahead for Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones, “Second Sons”] The Lannisters sure know how to throw a wedding. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Sansa's (Sophie Turner) big day included threats of rape, promises of murder and talk of impregnating the poor 14-year-old bride. This all set the stage for Tyrion to risk his life by directing one amazing zinger at Joffrey (Jack Gleeson). But first, the background. Joffrey was horrid during the wedding ceremony. He insisted on giving the bride away since she had no father to do so. (We seem to recall there’s an interesting

Only three episodes left in this year’s epic season of Game of Thrones. We actually got a bit of happy news last week amongst all the scheming and grisly goings-on, so I’m expecting heaps of bad news this week. Best of luck to Arya, Tyrion, and the Khaleesi, my personal favorites.

“Game of Thrones”: Bad News; Bears

13 May 2013 7:08 AM, PDT | The Backlot | See recent The Backlot news »

Okay, maybe it wasn’t all bad news, but don’t anyone tell that to Little Theon. Plus: bears.

Ygritte (Rose Leslie) and company are all thawed out – they chat about roads and drums and banners and… things of that nature. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is mad at the local warg for cutting him loose on the Wall. The warg says Ygritte will cut him loose when it’s time. Later, Ginger McBeardy gives Jon sex advice that sounds a bit… questionable. The warg poo-poohs Jon to Ygritte, and she tells him he’s just jealous. Turns out he is. Looks like he’s not the only psychic!

TalisaMilano (Oona Chaplin) dries off Robb (Richard Madden) as the adults discuss how pissed Lord Frey is gonna be about the delayed wedding. She also shares that she”s “not afraid of wet sh*t.” Good for her. Robb and TalisaMilano start »

‘Game Of Thrones’ Recap: Jaime Bear-ly Survives His Wildest Battle Yet

12 May 2013 9:06 PM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Dragons may be the most feared creatures in all the land, but it turns out bears are also pretty terrifying.

As a fan of the complicated relationship between Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Brienne — they’re basically the Ross and Big-Rachel of Westeros — I really enjoyed the May 12 episode of Game of Thrones, which found the Kingslayer going up against a bear of an enemy to save his lady from death. And by “a bear,” I mean an actual freakin’ bear. It was huge!

Sansa & Tyrion’s Wedding Bell Blues

Over at King’s Landing, Margaery (Natalie Dormer) was helping Sansa (Sophie Turner) see the silver lining in her upcoming marriage to Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). Sure, she was going to have gross sex with the tiny, nefarious womanizer — but their eventual son will have a bright future ahead of him!

Of course, all she really needed to say was, “Sansa, girl, »

‘Game Of Thrones’ Recap: Jon Snow & Ygritte Face Death At The Wall

5 May 2013 10:38 PM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Plus, King Joffrey plays target practice with an unusual partner — and wins.

After finally having weird cave sex last week, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Ygritte climbed the next wall of their relationship on the May 5 episode of Game Of Thrones. Only their new ‘wall’ wasn’t metaphorical. It was very much the literal Wall of Westeros, and they nearly died trying to climb over.

There was a lot of action on the other side of the Wall this week — beginning with Ygritte threatening to wear Jon’s peeper around her neck if he ever betrays her — and it really helped me to understand Jon and Ygritte as a couple. Her thinly-veiled threat, his valiant rescue, that big kiss atop the Wall… I’m starting to really root for these two.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Recap: Sansa Gets A Surprising New Suitor

28 April 2013 9:06 PM, PDT | HollywoodLife | See recent HollywoodLife news »

Two new matches were introuced this week — but neither of them really matches up.

Does anyone know of a good therapist in Westeros? Because after the April 28 episode of Game Of Thrones, I’m pretty sure everyone in the Lannister family could use one. In an attempt to stop the Tyrells from “stealing” the North from him, Tywin proposed — Ok, more like ordered — that Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) marry Sansa (Sophie Turner), and that Cersei (Lena Headey) give her hand to Loras. Yeah, that Loras. The gay one.

For those of you keeping score at home, this means Cersei will now have to go from sleeping with her brother to sleeping with her gay husband. The whole twisted plan came about after one of Little Finger’s slutty spies slept with Loras and learned of his intentions to marry Sansa. Little Finger then told Cersei, who never could have expected how »

'Game of Thrones': What would it look like with a 'Friends'-style opening?

25 April 2013 4:57 PM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Everyone loves the intense, dramatic and beautiful "Game of Thrones" opening credit sequence. But one brilliant user on YouTube has managed to improve even on this by posting a "Game of Thrones" opening in the style of the quintessential '90s sitcom, "Friends."

The new opening sequence from YouTube's YuenWoman uses the "Friends" theme song, the Rembrandts' "I'll Be There for You," while incorporating a bunch of wild and wacky "Game of Thrones" footage into the musical montage.

What does this mean? Interspersed throughout the clips are brief actor credits. Just like "Friends," there are only six credited actors -- Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Lena Headey, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. This is rather unfortunate for the roughly 8000 other cast members who get ignored in this adherence to sitcom standards.

While the whole video is completely amazing, there are a few highlights:
