V/H/S: Viral Blu-ray / DVD Release Details & Cover Art

“Hold on to your tickets, it’s gonna be a big finale.” Reuniting Dance of the Dead alums Justin Welborn and Gregg Bishop, Dante the Great is one of several segments featured in V/H/S: Viral. The third entry in the found footage anthology horror trilogy comes out on home media early next year with a bunch of bonus features, including Gorgeous Vortex, an additional segment that was filmed by Todd Lincoln.

From Magnolia Home Entertainment, V/H/S: Viral comes out on Blu-ray and DVD on February 17th, 2015, with the following special features (via Blu-ray.com):

“Hold onto your tickets, it’s gonna be a big finale.” In early May, we let you know that a third V/H/S movie was in the works. Titled V/H/S: Viral, the new movie will feature segments from Nacho Vigalondo, Marcel Sarmiento, Gregg Bishop, Justin Benson, Todd Lincoln, and Aaron Moorhead. Magnet Releasing has just announced the release dates for the franchise’s third installment.

I’ll admit, the title V/H/S Viral almost sounds like an off-shoot of the franchise that started in 2012. It really is V/H/S/3. There was some news that broke a few weeks ago that I never did get around to posting. Not sure if it was the beginning of a media blitz but it seems like everything has unfolded in the past few days. I’m kind of glad I sat on it so I could just combine everything in one post.

Following the success of horror anthologies V/H/S and V/H/S/2, Epic Pictures, The Collective and Bloody-Disgusting are teaming up for the next installment, entitled V/H/S/ Viral. The story of V/H/S/ Viral centers on a group of teenagers obsessed with fame, who, unbeknowst to them, become involved in a viral internet sensation. Justin Welborn and Emmy Argo are the first confirmed cast members, with Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Nacho Vigalondo (Open Windows), Marcel Sarmiento (Haunted), Gregg Bishop (The Other Side), Justin Benson (Resolution) and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution) each directing segments. Halloween 3 Development Moving Forward

We’ve heard about the next installment of Halloween moving forward over since 2009, but a number of attempts to get the popular masked killer back on the big screen have fallen through. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything, but a new announcement hints that Michael Myers could make his return in the very near future. 

Brad Miska originally confirmed that The Weinstein Company was talking Halloween 3 at Cannes and the official Halloween website has confirmed that the project is once again moving forward:

With the success of V/H/S and its sequel, a third film moving forward has been expected, but we were surprised when nothing turned up at Sundance, where the first two films made their world premiere. Thankfully, the project is alive and well, and we can now tell you which directors are on board.

According to Screen Daily, the third film will be titled V/H/S Viral and will focus on “fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.”

The directors include Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes), Marcel Sarmiento, Gregg Bishop (Dance of the Dead), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution).
