While "Gravity" is heavily favored to win its other technical bids, only 20 of our 30 Experts are predicting it to win Best Editing. Michael Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes) Mike Cidoni (AP) Thom Geier (EW) Mark Harris (Grantland) Tim Hayne (Moviefone) Michael Hogan (Vanity Fair) Dave Karger (Fandango) Scott Mantz (Access Hollywood) Mary Milliken (Reuters) Michael Musto (Gawker, Out.com) Tom O'Neil (Gold Derby) Kevin Polowy (Yahoo!) 22 Oscar Experts predict 'The Great Gatsby' for Production Design, five favor 'Gravity'

27 February 2014 10:38 PM, PST | Gold Derby | See recent Gold Derby news »

Twenty-two of our 30 Oscar Experts expect Catherine Martin to win the Best Production Design Oscar for "The Great Gatsby." She has already prevailed at the Critics' Choice and BAFTA awards as well as with the Art Directors Guild. This support gives her leading 4/9 odds to finally take home a bookend to the Oscar she won in 2001 for "Moulin Rouge!" She also contends for Best Costume Design for "Gatsby" and won that category for "Moulin Rouge!" also. If she is vulnernable, the Experts can't agree on her likeliest rival. Five expect the award to go to Andy Nicholson for "Gravity": Scott Feinberg (THR), Thom Geier (EW), Michael Hogan (Vanity Fair), Sasha Stone (Awards Daily), and Susan Wloszczyna (RogerEbert.com). That gives him odds of 5/1. Two others – Kevin Polowy (Yahoo!) and Jeff Wells (Hollywood Elsewhere) – think "12 Years a Slave&#3 »
