A native of the coastal town of Los Cabos in Mexico. Miguel showed
sensitivity for the visual arts and talent in the use of audiovisual
technology, which he would later put to use during his time in the
Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Guadalajara,
Mexico). He achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Communication.
Here he developed his skill and interest in cinematography, as well as
a new found thirst for literature.
After graduation he sought further training abroad. In February 2009 he traveled to Sydney, Australia where he enrolled at the Sydney Film School and completed an Advanced Diploma of Screen. It was here where Miguel truly grew as a filmmaker, having participated in several short films as cinematographer and in the camera department. He made the jump from cinematographer to director and wrote, edited and directed Dead Run. This was the result of his love for genre films, as well as Sci-Fi and fantasy literature.
