Rachel Noerdlinger is an equity Partner at Actum & the President of Noerdlinger Media, where she helps lead strategic communications, crisis management, and community engagement around electoral issues. She is the first Black woman to hold this role.
An award-winning communications strategist with a penchant for media activism, Rachel is a nationally esteemed expert that understands the value of third-party coalition-building and issues related to diversity, inclusion and strengthening relationships for organizations working in communities of color.
She has been at the forefront of major national issues, including managing media coordination for the high-profile funeral of George Floyd and for the historic civil rights march on Washington led by Actum client Rev. Al Sharpton and National Action Network.
With thirty years of experience in public relations, Rachel has led DEI communications before there was a term for it. Noerdlinger has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New York Daily News, and The New York Amsterdam News, among other media platforms. Her influence as a bona-fide veteran on the front lines of social justice has earned her myriad accolades, including on City & State's New York Power of Diversity: Black 100 list and, most recently, ranking as the top strategist of New York's 2021 Political PR Power 50 by City & State.
Rachel previously served as Chief of Staff for New York City's First Lady, Chirlane McCray, under Mayor Bill de Blasio. Prior to joining de Blasio's administration, she was President of Noerdlinger Media, a consulting firm representing a cross-sector of high-profile clients in politics, business, civil rights, law, and entertainment.
Rachel has been featured in Essence Magazine as one of the top ten women in the country making strides in her respective field, and has been termed "the public relations force behind Rev. Al Sharpton and National Action Network," whom she has advised in communications since the late 90's. Rachel's other career highlights include serving as Press Secretary during Rev. Al Sharpton's 2004 Presidential bid, and serving as a public relations advisor to the late Attorney Johnnie L Cochran, Jr. Rachel is also a board member of the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU)
