Diego Recalde Martinez was born in Ecuador. He is an Audio and Visual Artist. He studied at McFatter Technical Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he became a Television Producer and later earned his Bachelors of Arts in Social Communication at the International University of Ecuador. He also, received his Visual Arts Certification from the Center of Artistic Promotion (La Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana).
Diego has an extensive background in film and television. His artistry extends into Directing, Director of Photography and as Editor. He has been involved in the production of many short films and independent feature films like SHE (2012), which was shot on location in South Florida. He also has directed music videos, and documentaries of all genres for public viewing and private industrials. He won the first prize award as Director with his short film ES MI HOBBY given by the Octaedro Film Festival in 2003.
In 2011, he won the first prize of the "Letras Verdes Photography Contest" given by the International FLACSO University with his "Generator" exhibition. In August of 2011, he participated in the first "International Biennial of Contemporary Artistic Photography Exhibition" in Ecuador. Both of his series "Six at Six" and "Portraits of a Journey" have been in a few National and International exhibitions.
Diego also teaches Film Arts and for five years he was a resident teacher at INCINE (Film and Acting Institute) and IAVQ (Institute of Visual Arts in Quito). At INCINE, Diego was under the tutelage of Camilo Luzuriga, who is a very distinguished Film Director and Producer in Ecuador.
Founder of the Ecuadorian electronic band Estereo Humanzee, a highly regarded influential band of the 'alternative and electronic' scene in Ecuador. Ten years of experience. European, North and South American tours. Diego Recalde Martinez managed all of the artistic concepts of the band from inception until 2015.
In May of 2015, Diego started his solo path and created, "We and The Machines". A 'live analog electro set' sound. The future is brilliant for this innovative artist with more to come...
