Jennifer Gracey was born and raised in Alaska, USA and lived in Tokyo, Japan for nearly two decades (from 1999-2017) before relocating to London, UK in early 2017.
Her slow journey into filmmaking began in the early 1990's around the time home video recorders (VCRs) were released into the consumer market. She attended Brooks College in Long Beach, California to study fashion design in hopes of one day doing costumes for films (1994-1996). In 2011, after a long detour by way of Japan, that dream was realized in her pre-production and production roles working with Yamatodamashi Films on their first significant project. In 2014, she enrolled at MatadorU, an online media school covering journalism, photography and film with the long game goal of further developing and shaping her storytelling abilities on all sides of the camera and pen.
Two film projects of note are work done on Kakurembo (2009) (Director, John H. LaDue Jr. ) which was based in Kamakura, Japan. Then, as Producer of award winning Waidaiko X Black Gospel (2010) fusion music video (Executive Producer, Paul Nethercott). (2011 Royal Reel Award for Music Video and 2011 Silver Lei Award for Music Video)
