Rene was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. His very first
exposure to film was at the age of nine, making home videos with a VHS
Camcorder, and using a wheeled office chair as a dolly. It was there
that he began learning the art of camera movements. Upon completing
high school, Rene began his professional career, shooting for a sports
production company. In SAE Dubai, he grabbed his first glide-cam, and
fell in love with the art of it. After crafting a technique and skill
for it, he packed up, and moved to New York, where he attended New York
Film Academy. He has been working frequently on many independent
productions within New York City, serving as a cinematographer,
Steadicam Operator, and Dolly Grip for over twenty productions. He
currently resides in Manhattan, where he regularly shares his mastery
in the art of camera movement.
