On Thursday's episode of Project Runway, Tim Gunn accused L.A.-based designer Johnny Sakalis of an "utterly preposterous spewing of fiction" after he said that a leaky iron ruined his first dress, which Gunn said looked like a "craft project gone awry." Calling from his home, where he says he's working on an Emmy dress for an unnamed client, Sakalis now says he wasn't lying and that water ruined both dresses -- and that he was misunderstood on the runway. --Brian Orloff Was it hard for you to watch last night's episode? The part that hurt me the most I think was when the question of my passion for what I was doing [came up]. That was the part that hurt more than being accused of being a liar -- although being accused of being a liar was kind of painful too. Do you want to clear it up right now?...

At the end of last night's Project Runway 6 episode, Tim Gunn broke from his typically objective and calm demeanor and called the eliminated contestant a liar. "I am incredulous at that utterly preposterous spewing of fiction Johnny did on the runway. It was ridiculous," he told the other designers immediately after Johnny Sakalis left. He was referring to Johnny's insistence on the runway that he'd trashed his first made-from-newspaper dress because an iron sputtered... keep reading » » read the full story and comment, or find the latest news about Project Runway 6

The 12 remaining contestants on Project Runway worked with newspaper as a material on Thursday night's episode. Althea Harper was granted immunity when she won the challenge last week and said she didn't want the judges to think she could make "one good garment". Contender Johnny Sakalis, 29, vowed to get to Bryant Park in New York as the winner and avoid being in the bottom three again this week. The designers were told by presenter Heidi Klum that Tim Gunn would take them on a "field trip" and all the answers for their challenge would be in "black and white". They arrived at the headquarters for the Los Angeles Times, where fashion editor Booth Moore informed them they would be using pages from the newspaper as their fabric this week. Tim told the contestants that paper clothing had "quite a distinguished history" (more)...

Warning, spoilers ahead! Read no further if you don't want to know what happened on last night's Project Runway.
Last week the designers were paired up and Ra'mon pulled out an unprecedented victory given that his hapless "team leader" Mitchell was sent packing.
Qristyl, who has been in the bottom two a lot, was spared yet another week. Nothing against the woman, but given her questionable personal style and lackluster performance to date, she's beginning to stick out like a sore thumb.
Back at the designer's apartments the guys commiserate over the team challenge, with Epperson complaining about how hard it was to work with Qristyl.
Look in the mirror buddy, you were clearly no slice of heaven yourself.
Nicolas Putvinski piles onto the Qristyl-bashing by throwing up his hands and pronouncing that they "really need to weed out the talentless people." Which is sorta rich considering he's one of them.

The wait is over! Project Runway finally emerged on Lifetime Thursday with an epic block of programming that lasted more than three hours. And despite the much ballyhooed network flip and the relocation from New York to Los Angeles, deep exhale, the new Runway felt pretty much like the old one. All About the All-Stars: What a treat to catch up with Sweet P., Daniel Vosovic, Chris March, Uli, Mychael Knight, season 3 champ Jeffrey and Korto! Also, Santino Rice brought his typical braggadocio and baggage. Sure, that Tim Gunn impression is classic but without Andre as the brunt of the joke, the shtick was a little played-out ... sort of like his collection of metallic-inspired garments. In the challenge, the eight designers had to create a mini-collection of three looks. And true to form, a surprise was added in the eleventh hour when they had to fashion a fourth outfit from...
