Mauro is a Swiss/Mexican narrative filmmaker. He holds an MFA in directing and scriptwriting from Columbia University in New York. Mauro has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious 2013 Student Academy Award (Oscar®) for his thesis film "Un mundo para Raúl" (A World for Raúl), twice the CINE Golden Eagle Award, CINE Special Jury Award, Upcoming Talents Awards in Switzerland and Big Beach Best directing award. Mauro was part of the Masterclass Atelier Paris-Ludwigsburg at La Femis, a post-graduate program which is tailored around European co-production/distribution. He was part of the Script Station at the Berlinale Talent Campus, ScriptConnect in NYC and L.A. He further attended the Guadalajara Talents, Zurich Master Class, Cine Qua Non Lab Screenwriting Lab and is a Marcie Bloom Fellowship recipient. Mauro produced the feature film "Copenhagen" in Denmark, "Tiempo de Lluvias" in Oaxaca and was a 2016 Rotterdam Producer's Lab participant. He is co-owner of the production company Fidelio Films.
