‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Welcomes Back a Former Agent This Season

  • Collider.com
When Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns after ' inaugural run comes to a close this fall, a familiar face will join the title heroes once more. Season 5 will, of course, feature the return of Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen's Melinda May, and Chloe Bennet's Daisy "Skye" Johnson, but it turns out that some of the show's dearly departed (but not permanently) characters aren't so departed after all. As EW reports, Nick Blood, who played Lance Hunter for 35 episodes in Seasons 2 and 3, is set …

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Which Former Agent Is Returning for Season 5?
The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will welcome back a familiar face whenever Season 5 rolls around.

Nick Blood, who played Lance Hunter during Seasons 2 and 3 of the ABC/Marvel drama, is set to make an encore, EW.com reports. No further details were revealed (of course).

Blood last aired toward the end of Season 3, when Lance and partner/ex-wife Bobbi Morse (played by Adrianne Palicki) — facing the rap for a triple-assassination on Russian soil — slipped off into “the wind” (as they say) after sharing an emotional “spy’s good-bye” with Coulson, Jemma, Mack et al.

As for Palicki, she stars opposite Seth MacFarlane

DVD Review – Identicals (2015)

Identicals, 2015.

Written and directed by Simon Pummell.

Starring Nora-Jane Noone, Nick Blood and Lachlan Nieboer.

Synopsis:

None Of Us Are As Unique As We Think. Identicals is a highly unconventional romantic thriller: an obsessive love story stripped down and re-arranged into the looping logic of a nightmare.

From British writer-director Simon Pummell, Identicals seeks to make real a premise that in a parallel universe, there is a version of yourself that is enjoying a better life than you.

Built within the conventions of the sci-fi genre, Identicals is, or rather attempts to be, a slow burning, thoughtful and introspective film, which chooses to show rather than tell, and often leaves the viewer to draw their own conclusions based on the loose evidence presented to them.

I’ll start with what was good about Identicals. A haunting and enduring score, which complemented what were overall well thought-out visuals, was certainly one of the highlights of it.

Marvel TV: ABC is looking at multiple new shows

Rob Leane Aug 5, 2016

With Agent Carter dropped and Marvel's Most Wanted shut down, ABC is looking for "creatively strong" new shows...

It was a dark time for Marvel TV when we heard that the Hayley Atwell-starring Agent Carter wouldn't be returning for a third season, at the exact same time as the news broke that Nick Blood and Adrianne Palicki's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, Marvel's Most Wanted (which the flagship Marvel TV show went to great lengths to tee up, and ABC shot a pilot for), wouldn't be going ahead.

Today, there's a glimmer of hope for ABC's Marvel output. Those projects are both still dead, but the network is on the lookout for other Marvel Comics-themed projects to develop.

"We all came to an agreement that the next show that we want to do together is something that is as creatively strong as it can be,

Why ABC Passed on ‘Marvel’s Most Wanted’ and ‘Agent Carter’ Season 3 [TCA 2016]
ABC has been wanting to expand their Marvel slate. Marvel Television developed a pilot for Marvel’s Most Wanted, a spinoff featuring two characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) were even written out of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to set the stage for their own show. However, ABC ultimately […]

ABC head: Don't count out Palicki and Blood returning to 'S.H.I.E.L.D'
Never say die. This was essentially the message of ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey at the Television Critics Association press tour about the potential return of Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. This comes after the planned spinoff, Marvel's Most Wanted, was scrapped, leaving Lance Hunter and Bobbi Morse out in the cold. “The characters were disavowed,” Dungey said. “But I never underestimate Marvel’s ability to bring people back.” Palicki’s return to the superhero show might be slightly challenging. The actress has already signed on to Seth MacFarlane’s untitled space dramedy on Fox as a series regular. So her dance card could be full. While Marvel's Most Wanted didn't make the cut, Dungey indicated that this didn't mark the end of their efforts to pursue superhero projects. She noted that the network is involved in ongoing discussions with the Marvel folks regarding additional shows

ABC Boss Talks Castle Backlash, Mia S.H.I.E.L.D. Duo, Star Wars Series Talks, Body of Proof Regrets
Why did ABC cut Stana Katic from Castle only to then cancel the show altogether? New network president Channing Dungey was tasked with answering that dicey question Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

“That’s a case where you have things running on two parallel tracks,” Dungey explained to reporters. “We were always upfront with the studio and producers that we might not be bringing the show back for Season 9. [The studio/producers] did what they had to do [in case there was another season]. Ultimately, we did not feel like it was the right thing to do to order another season.”

Watch out, Coulson. Marvel’s ‘Agents of Shield’ has found their new Director.
Jason O’Mara will join the cast of Marvel's Agents of Shield for Season 4 while the fate of Adrianne Palicki's Mockingbird is in more doubt than ever. Deadline reports O'Mara "has joined the series as S.H.I.E.L.D’s new Director, playing a character whose Marvel roots go back to the 1940s" but no word on who that actually is. You may recall they jumped ahead a bit in time in the Season 3 finale. “Bringing Jason into the mix as the New Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the Agency,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb. “Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent.” O’Mara has a history with the network, having starred on their short-lived Americanized
