American actor Michael Hancock was born Michael Erle Hancock on October 4, 1965 in Augusta, Georgia. Michael has always been an extremely extroverted person... and found the spotlight at a very early age, making appearances on local television shows, theatrical productions and print.

Michael was adopted at birth and spent the majority of his childhood in Warner Robins, Georgia, with his adopted parents, Ronald and Anne Hancock, and an adopted sister, Cheryl. From a very early age, Michael was passionate about music and sports, playing the drums and singing, and excelling at most sports. Michael attended Warner Robins High School where he was a 2-year letterman and starter on the 1981 national championship high school football team. He was an active member of the drama department, including 2 lead roles in the annual WRHS Follies/Revue in 1982 and 1983. Michael graduated from WRHS in 1983.

After high school, Michael attended the University of Georgia and Georgia Southwestern College, before graduating from Georgia Southern College in June, 1988 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. Michael was an average student throughout his academic career. While at Georgia Southern, Michael was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and a Big Brother for Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Following college graduation, Michael moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he lived for the next 20+ years. Michael has held careers in broadcast radio, management, non-profit and for-profit leadership, consulting, training and sales before turning back to his passion of acting in 2008.

Michael believes strongly in the need to act daily in front of a camera in order to maintain one's acting chops. Michael also pursues professional acting training regularly, and is a proponent of "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron, and Eric Morris' "Being and Doing."

Michael is married to Joni Jordan Hancock and the couple have 2 children, Joshua and Jacob. Michael lives in Atlanta, GA and Jacksonville, FL.
