Well it’s that time of year again and for the football fans out there it couldn’t come quick enough. Seeing Andy Murray make the Wimbledon final and then witnessing the Olympic extravaganza in London was a nice distraction but that’s all it was. Something to help the football withdrawal symptoms we were all going through. This summer had some nice filling but it was just a prelude to the main event. Now that we have the curtain raising Community Shield and the ridiculously timed International friendlies out of the way it is clear sailing to the start of the Premier League campaign.
It’s time to get the scarf’s out of the closet. Time to proudly wear the money spinning new strip with the name of your clubs marquee new signing on it. Time to put Match Of The Day back on the Sky+ despite Mark Lawrenson.
