Highly educated and having always lived in the comfort of the suburbia, James Hogg was put on the Scottish island of Garbh Eilach by the programme BBC Nationwide for an interesting article. Armed with nothing more than a few basic survival items like a machete and some wire and an afternoon's training by the RAF, James gave a nightly report by radio and film report on his battle to survive the elements, stranded on the island for 14 days, but the end of which he was in very poor medical and psychological state.
