"The Walking Dead" cast and creators received a typically glowing reception at this year's San Diego Comic Con, where the epic first trailer for Season 6 (embedded above) premiered in Hall H to an audience of 6,000 screaming fans. Later, showrunner Scott M. Gimple, producer/director/special makeup f/x designer Gregory Nicotero and cast members including Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus sat down with the press for a series of interviews. Ladies and gentlemen, The Walking Dead‘s Rick Grimes is officially back on the market.

But don’t go buying any walker wedding-cake topper just yet, despite how it seems rather likely that something will happen between the single dad and Jessie.

“It’s tough, dating in the apocalypse,” star Andrew Lincoln joked when he — and castmates Danai Gurira, Steven Yeun, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James and Sonequa Martin-Green, as well as executive producer Scott Gimple — talked with Michael Ausiello at TVLine’s Comic-Con interview suite at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Last season of The Walking Dead ended with the Ricktatorship essentially crumbling to the ground, following some questionable actions by the show’s titular character.  Now that everyone in the group has settled into the comfort behind the walls of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, the question of whether these characters can adjust to a community life still remains unanswered. Following their panel at Comic-Con Friday afternoon, we got a chance to sit down with the cast and executive producers of the show for roundtable interviews.  Present were stars, Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Danai Gurira, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, and Steven Yeun.  As well as executive producers, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, and Scott M. Gimple. If you were lucky enough to attend the Walking Dead Comic-Con panel today, you'd have seen the likes of Steven Yeun, Andrew Lincoln, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira and Michael Cudlitz talking about zombies as well as revealing a new trailer, which you can watch below. But before you get too excited / nervous / terrified, know this: the trailer may be messing with your head. “We sometimes play with the truth in trailers,” explained Showrunner Scott Gimple. “Rick is absolutely faced with challenges with way he does things… Things may not be what they seem.” What they seem to be, of course, is what many feared: an almighty tussle between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan (Lennie James) as "safe haven" Alexandria is defended and fought over.Still, don't get too anxious: there's a swamp zombie to look forward to, as well as an extended 90-minute premiere episode that will air in the Us on October 11.
