Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens Is Creepy Company in The Guest Teaser Trailer

Picturehouse has released The Guest teaser trailer online.  The film stars Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as a soldier who befriends the family of a fallen comrade and becomes a threat to everyone around him when it turns out he may not be who he says he is.  The Guest is from You’re Next director Adam Wingard and screenwriter Simon Barrett, and they've delivered another terrific movie.  I caught the flick at Sundance, and it felt like lost John Carpenter film from the 1980s.  Plus, it has an amazing performance from Stevens.  Seek this one out. Hit the jump to check out The Guest teaser trailer.  The film opens in September, and also stars Maika MonroeLeland OrserLance ReddickChase Williamson, and Brendan Meyer. Via IGN. Here's the official synopsis for The Guest: The film tells the story of a young soldier who arrives on the doorstep of the Peterson family, »

“We are wrapped on Fetish Factory, my 5-day feature film wonder-shoot for the fab Bbp,” said Wilson. “What a way to make a directorial debut: pinup girls, multiple costume changes, burlesque acts, singers, bands, claustrophobic ‘haunted house’ horror with a big cast, zombies, beauty and F/X makeup, bloody death scenes, stunts, and humor -- I think my next movie should be about one character in a phone booth or something… Whew!”

Fetish Factory was more fun than I could have ever imagined,” added co-star/producer Jennifer Blanc-Biehn. “It’s a really exciting film featuring pinup models versus zombies. And I’m so proud of our cast. We pulled »

Indie Trailer Sunday: Chase Williamson in Superhero Thriller 'Sparks'

9 March 2014 12:00 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"1948 - I remember that year well... It was the year I met her... And it was the year a serial killer came to my town." Today's indie trailer is for a dark superhero or super powers action-thriller titled Sparks, from co-directors Todd Burrows & Christopher Folino. Up-and-coming actor Chase Williamson (John Dies at the End and "Video Game High School") plays Ian Sparks, a masked vigilante who "discovers the dark side to heroism." IMDb's synopsis leaves out the super-powered group Rochester 13, but they're in this trailer. The cast includes Ashley Bell, Clancy Brown, Jake Busey, William Katt, Marina Squerciati. I'm curious about it. Watch the official trailer for Todd Burrows & Christopher Folino's Sparks, in high def from Apple: "Supers like me had kept this town safe..." One of my favorite films at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was The Guest.  Directed and written by the team behind You’re Next (Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett, respectively), The Guest is fantastic and as Matt said in his review, it “feels like a lost John Carpenter film from the director’s golden age.  The picture effortlessly moves between a nerve-wracking mystery to a gleefully dark comedy, and at its best it even mixes the two together.”   The story revolves around a soldier that befriends the family of a fallen comrade and becomes a threat to everyone around him when he may not be who he says he is.  Trust me, it’s a film you should be excited to see and I’m sure it’ll be released sometime this year.  The Guest stars Dan Stevens (in an amazingly dark turn), Maika MonroeLeland OrserLance Reddick, »
