Charlie Plummer in Official Trailer for Andrew Haigh's 'Lean on Pete'

You can't get anywhere on your own. A24 has revealed the first official trailer for an indie drama titled Lean on Pete, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival this year and also played in Telluride, Toronto and London. Andrew Haigh is the critically acclaimed filmmaker behind Weekend and 45 Years, and this is his latest touching drama about a lost boy from Oregon. Charlie Plummer stars as Charley, a teen who befriends a race horse named Lean on Pete. The full cast includes Steve Buscemi, Chloë Sevigny, Travis Fimmel, Amy Seimetz, Steve Zahn, Thomas Mann, and Alison Elliott. I saw this in Venice and it's a good film with some solid performances, but it didn't really win me over in any way. It's just a simple story about a lonely, lost, struggling boy who finds some hope in a horse he befriends. It's definitely worth a look. Here's the official

We said in our review, “large portions of his latest film, Lean on Pete, while exquisitely photographed, are devoted to admiring those stunning vistas, but you might be left wondering what happened to the plot.”

Amityville: The Awakening Review

For a long-pushed, unceremoniously dropped – straight to Google Play to watch for Free – 2017 reboot-a-ma-jig, Amityville: The Awakening sure is brazenly confident. Like, beyond pure existence. I’m all for revamping franchises in new and chilling ways, but to shade other Amityville entries without first proving your own merit? That’s exactly what happens when Thomas Mann’s draped-in-black horror devotee asks which Amityville film should be watched from inside 112 Ocean Avenue. “Remakes totally blow,” spouts his goth-punk friend. Hey – at least 2005’s The Amityville Horror features Ryan Reynolds chopping wood shirtless and in longjohns. Which is more than this generic Kidz-Bop mess of redundant haunter misfires has to offer.

Bella Thorne stars as Belle Walker, a damn-the-world transplant now inhabiting the famed Amityville manor where Ronnie DeFeo Jr. murdered his family – but she doesn’t know it. Mother Joan (Jennifer Jason Leigh) claims she scored a killer deal on a

First Amityville: Awakening Clip Arrives, Release Date Announced
After years of delays, Amityville: The Awakening is finally getting a release. For real this time. The movie has been shifted around on the release calendar four different times, which is rarely a good sign for any movie. Especially a low-budget horror movie such as this. In any case, this will provide horror fans with something new to watch this Halloween season. The good part? The movie will be available to stream for free on Google Play.

According to Deadline, Amityville: The Awakening will be streaming for free exclusively on Google Play from October 12 to November 8. The movie is also being given a limited theatrical release starting on October 28, for those who are looking for something to watch during the Halloween weekend. That should help the studio recover some of the money they invested in this modern take on the Amityville Horror franchise, but in many ways, they seem to

Amityville: The Awakening Creeps Out Of Hiding With First Clip; Horror Pic To Release Via Google Play Next Month

Every house may have a history, but when it comes to 112 Ocean Avenue, it’s imbued with horror and hearsay.

We are, of course, referring to Amityville, New York’s most famous haunted house first depicted in Jay Anson’s 1977 book of the same name. Fast forward 40 years and 112 Ocean Avenue continues to be a point of fixation for Hollywood suits, given Amityville: The Awakening is all set to become the 19th (!) film based on the horror saga and the first to see a theatrical release since 2005, so there’s quite a lot riding on The Awakening.

Directed by Franck Khalfoun, Amityville: The Awakening keeps things on the straight and narrow by centering on a young woman, Belle (Bella Thorne), who takes up residence in a new home only to find that it’s haunted by a strange, inexplicable phenomenon. Cue the jump-scares and shrill music.

But with a late
