The genre of high-stakes stunts on live TV is looking to push new boundaries. Australia and U.S. producer Essential Media Group has teamed with daredevil performer Bello Nock (America’s Got Talent) and his Opportunity Nocks, Inc. on Volcano Walk Live. It is envisioned as a live three-hour live primetime TV stunt special featuring Nock in a tightrope walk over one of the world’s most active volcanoes. The project, which marks Essential Media Group’s first foray into the live event space, is aiming for a premiere in late 2019. There is no network attached yet though there are active conversations.
A location for the walk has not been determined. In collaboration with experts, Essential Media and Nock have boiled down the target list of volcanoes to a handful that have been active for up to 100 years and, based on volcanic activity, will...

How did Peter Pan get to Neverland? How did Captain Hook get his ship? And what’s up with fairy-dust? These are questions unlikely to plague viewers, but if you were really wondering then you could pop in a disc of director Joe Wright’s Pan, soaring onto Blu-Ray, digital HD, and DVD release this month. The film reconfigures the story of Peter Pan back before he met Wendy, John, and Michael Darling; before he was the leader of the Lost Boys, the hero of the natives and mermaids, the sworn enemy of Captain Hook. Because back in those days, Peter was just another lost boy himself, an orphan dreaming that his mother will one day find him again.
We first meet Peter as his mother (Amanda Seyfried, shockingly underused) leaves him on the steps of an orphanage with only a loving note and a panpipe pendant around his neck.

NBC has released a short preview of their upcoming Peter Pan Live TV event that stars Allison Williams as Peter and Christopher Walken as Captain Hook. Since the show won't be pre-recorded and will be broadcast live, the trailer consists of the stars behind the scenes while doing a promotional photo shoot. I've got to say, Walken looks creepy as hell as Hook.
Other cast members include Christian Borle as Mr. Darling and Smee, Kelli O’Hara as Mrs. Darling, Taylor Louderman as Wendy, with Alanna Saunders appearing as Tiger Lily, Jake Lucas as John Darling, John Allyn as Michael Darling, and Caitlin Houlahan as Jane.
The live broadcast airs on NBC from 8-10 p.m. on December 4th. My kids seems to be excited about it, and it looks like it could be a fun event so I'll probably tune in to check it out.
