Miley Cyrus, Twitter
By Elizabeth Lancaster (@lizzydl)
Miley Cyrus took to Twitter yesterday to debut a series of selfies, showing the world Just how blonde a brunette can be.
When she ditched her naturally brown mop in July, she explained, "Now that I’m blonde I gotta give duck lips in every photo." Which begs the question what photo face this new platinum look will require? With little to no inhibitions about herself or her lifestyle choices, she always does what she originally promised the world she would do – she's just being Miley.
Check out her new look:

Some may think this new look is in preparation for her impending marriage to one of Hollywood’s most attractive men, Liam Hemsworth, but fear not – the 19-year-old singer told Marie Claire that she plans on having a long engagement.

The game for lady MCs in 2012 has come a long way. With the emergence of talent such as Iggy Azelea and Kreayshawn on top of the household names like Nicki Minaj, there are plenty of great things happening for female stars in the rap world. Now, there is one more name to add to the list, and it’s not someone we would have guessed.
During a live stream talking about her new album, British pop sensation Leona Lewis revealed, "On my new album I will be rapping. I've discovered my voice for rapping." What now?
As if that news wasn’t enough, she took it even farther saying her “London-style MCing” was as good as the queen of all female rappers. ''I could probably go up against Nicki Minaj now. I'm actually that good, so I'm coming for you Nicki!" Well, we don’t think »

It’s a big day in the music world, especially for two of pop's biggest diva superstars!
The 2012 MTV Video Music Award nominations are out and they bring real-life friends Katy Perry and Rihanna together in the Best Female Video and Video of the Year categories. Perry is celebrating another Rihanna-affiliated achievement this morning as well: Her hit "Wide Awake" rises to #1 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart, tying her with Ri's record.
As Perry's latest smash moves from second place to the pole position – "Awake" is sitting pretty at #3 on the Hot 100 as well – she and Rihanna now have an amazing, record-setting nine pop chart-toppers apiece. They are followed by Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Pink, who each have seven #1s on the Pop Songs chart, and Beyonce and Mariah Carey, who have six chart leaders.
Looks like Katy and Rihanna have plenty to celebrate this morning! »

Justin Bieber may keep it PG in his albums and videos, but the 18-year-old pop star may not be quite as wholesome as he lets on to his young fans.
On a 12-hour Air New Zealand flight back to the U.S. following his Down Under promo tour, Justin and his entourage took over first class and got into some trouble. According to TMZ, Biebs and Co. were shouting curse words (including the four letter ones) so loudly over the course of the trip that a nearby mother of two reprimanded Justin. She instructed him to "stop yelling curse words and using that kind of language on a plane. It's not appropriate." Amen.
While we are sure Justin does not get told what to do very often, he was embarrassed and reportedly apologized to the woman.
Maybe Justin is in need of other spaces and outlets to shout, »

Potterheads everywhere are about to get very jealous of some little kids.
"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling is building a private Hogwarts playground for her kids. As the creator of this intricate world, Rowling's 40-foot adventure playground is sure to not only include all sorts of sophisticated details, but hold design much nearer and dearer to her vision of Hogwarts.
The playground replication of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will be built in the backyard of her Edinburgh, Scotland, castle mansion for a whopping $232,919. But being worth a reported $869.5 million herself, this venture won’t exactly break the bank.
>> Cover For J.K. Rowling's Post-'Potter' Novel Revealed
Fortunately for Rowling and her children, the project does not seem to be an inconvenience for neighbors even though it is so large that Rowling needed a planning permit for construction. The author is, unsurprisingly, very well-liked in the neighborhood, »

While talking to the A.V. Club about his new-to-dvd "Friends With Kids," "Mad Men" Emmy nominee Jon Hamm participated in the site's "Random Rules" segment, which asks stars what songs are on their iTunes shuffle. “What More Can I Say” by Jay-z randomly came on Hamm’s iPod and the world is lucky it did because he went on to tell an unexpected anecdote about a time long before the suits and cigarettes of "Mad Men," when he and Jay-z rode in an elevator together. As hard as it is to believe that an elevator could hold these two bigger than life stars, this was at a time that was both pre-"Mad Men" and pre-Beyoncé.

President Barack Obama’s latest re-election campaign video has been released, and it’s all about who runs the world—Girls.
In the clip, Beyoncé reads from a letter she wrote to the First Lady Michelle Obama. She first posted the letter on her Tumblr as a way to tell the first lady, and the world, how grateful she is for everything Mrs. Obama has done for this country and for women everywhere. This is definitely not the first time Beyoncé or Michelle Obama have expressed their mutual adoration for one another, but it is the first time their affections have made their way onto the campaign trial.
Beyoncé describes the first lady as “humble, loving and sincere” in the campaign video, reading aloud from her handwritten letter. Queen B's daughter Blue Ivy even entered the conversation near the end of the video with Bey adding, »

While you were busy climbing the stairs of your 5th floor walkup and tap dancing around critters after a long day of work, Mariah Carey has been dealing with her own (very different) real estate problems.
The ultimate diva and hubby Nick Cannon are saying goodbye to the $5.5 million beach house (above) in Bahamas they call "Sea Lily" (because "the beach house" is so common). On a private island named Windermere, the oceanfront estate is surrounded by other beach houses with "well known owners."
While Sea Lily doesn’t seem too shabby to us, Mariah and Nick are clearly in the market for an upgrade, something their posh summer rental – with almost double the space and triple the value of Sea Lily – in the Hamptons can attest.

As if "Princess of China" wasn’t already awesome enough, Coldplay and Rihanna have upped the ante by changing the vibe of the hit with a new acoustic version, released this morning. This new version is reminiscent of the charismatic collaborative performance the two brought to the Grammy Awards this past year.
Coldplay haven't been shy about signing the praise of the pop princess, going on record (several times) to tell the world just how great they think she is. Coldplay have described Rihanna as an “incredible artist,” who was their first choice for the track. And after the original release, the Grammy performance, the video and now this acoustic version, we think it’s fair to say they made a great choice.

Even the non Beliebers of the world have probably heard that Justin Bieber’s new album, Believe, was released this week. You cannot turn on the TV, radio or walk down the street without hearing his name – sometimes from a screaming mob of girls.
Jimmy Fallon heard the news from Justin himself last night, but things turned slightly competitive when Jimmy mentioned his own new album. Soon, instead of Blow Your Pants Off vs. Believe (Jimmy admitted right up front that he knew Bieber would sell more copies) it was Jimmy vs. Justin. Fallon was committed to finding a way to beat Bieber … at something.

When Beyoncé is not singing and performing on stage, or being a wife and mother at home, she keeps herself occupied proving to her fans just how much she appreciates them.
The latest open letter from Queen Bey to appear on her website is to a fan that she met back in 2007. Timmy Kelly, then 13, had left an impression on Bey, having been born blind and suffering from Cerebral Palsy. He just graduated from high school and Beyoncé wrote the heartfelt letter below to say congratulations, and to encourage all of her fans “that anything is possible if you work hard and believe in yourself.”
This kind of gesture is nothing new from Beyoncé – throughout her career she has been known to show her love for fans having a particularly hard time. After she got wind that a young Australian fan named Chelsea-Lee’s had been diagnosed with cancer, »

It doesn’t get much hotter than One Direction. Except maybe if you took their token blonde hottie and match him up with sweetheart songbird and "X Factor" judge Demi Lovato. Now, that'd be a young pop power couple!
Which brings us to the question that everyone is asking — are these two young superstars the newest couple in Hollywood?
Ryan Seacrest got the scoop on his radio show today (June 14) straight from Niall Horan himself. He explained that he and Lovato have been using Skype to chit chat – and that Demi "is a cool girl."

Miley Cyrus has been known to shock in the past – but this week’s announcement of the 19-year-old star's engagement to 22-year-old boyfriend Liam Hemsworth trumps all. Since this news was released, media outlets have been overwhelmed with a range of opinions from family, friends and fellow artists.
The latest to join the conversation is fellow country music star Carrie Underwood, who spoke out at the Cmt Music Awards with some words of wisdom for young Miley. "If you can, be engaged for a while, plan everything slow and take your first couple of years just to really hang out,” she told Extra on the red carpet.
Underwood has been happily married for two years now to Nashville Predators hokey star Mike Fisher. With a happy relationship and engagement in the spotlight behind her, Miley might want to consider taking Carrie's advice.

Start sending in your resumes, ladies. One of the world's most talked about bachelors has finally acknowledged his desire to start a family – and it could be with you!
Talking up the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (which is a very big deal across the pond), Prince Harry opened up to ABC’s Katie Couric about the many important women in in life, including his late mother Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth, but most intriguingly about the future mother of his children, whose identity is still Tbd.
The hunky 27-year-old royal explained, "I’ve longed for kids since I was very, very young. And so I’m just waiting to find the right person, someone who’s willing to take on the job."
While the obvious question is, "Who the heck wouldn't be up for it?" Harry also revealed that there aren't any current candidates. "I don't »

Mariah Carey fans can let out a sigh of relief! Everyone’s favorite diva has just announced she is back to doing what she does best – making music!

Poor guy!
Forty four may seem like an irrelevant number in individual album sales for heavy hitters like Adele and Jason Mraz, who are accustom to selling millions, but this week that number made all of the difference.
Adele held on to the top spot on the U.K. album chart this week with her record-setting blockbuster 21 by selling just 44 more copies than Mraz's debuting Love is a Four Letter Word.
Love is Mraz's first new release since 2008's smash We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things, which gave the singer the longest running song ever on the Billboard Hot 100, "I'm Yours." In 2010, Mraz won two Grammys for his work on the album, so needless to say the bar has been set high for his follow-up. His first single off the new album, "I Won’t Give Up," peaked at #1 on iTunes after its release in January, »

Last week, "Glee" pleased pop music lovers everywhere with their rendition of the hit single "Somebody That I Used to Know." Show standout Darren Criss performed the emotional ballad alongside guest star Matt Bomer, and while they gave the song their own touch, they stuck to the general structure and vibe of the original. Based on the already established widespread popularity of the song, the cover was very well-received by most.
Unfortunately, Gotye himself was not so pleased. The Australian singer told the Sunday Mail (via Billboard), "They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop 'Glee' style, ultra-dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box."
Ouch. Such a review from the song's singer is probably not what the show's creators or young stars were going for. »
