First Official Trailer for Illumination's Latest Sequel 'Despicable Me 3'

"Dance fight!" Universal has released the first full theatrical trailer for Illumination Entertainment's next sequel to Despicable Me, titled just Despicable Me 3 for now. The story brings back Gru (and his minions) for another misadventure, this time involving his long lost twin brother Dru (who is also voiced by Steve Carell) not seen in this trailer. The full voice cast includes Kristen Wiig back at his side as Lucy Wilde, along with Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Michael Beattie, Dana Gaier and "South Park's" Trey Parker as the new stuck-in-the-80s villain Balthazar Bratt. Nabbing Parker for a voice is the only thing that interests me about this. They show quite a bit of footage in the trailer, and it looks as amusing as expected. ‘Despicable Me 3’ Trailer: Trey Parker Stirs Up Trouble For Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig

14 December 2016 10:15 AM, PST | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

His fashion sense is dated, his devious villain tactics may be a bit unconventional, but you can’t deny he’s got style. Who is he? He’s Balthazar Bratt, the latest criminal that will wreck havoc in “Despicable Me 3.”

Illumination Entertainment released the trailer for the latest film in the animated franchise, which sees the return of Steve Carell as super villain Gru, Kristen Wiig as his wife Lucy and the adorable and wild Minions.

This time around “Grucy” (Lucy’s couple name for them that Gru hates) will go up against the nefarious villain Balthazar, voiced by “South Park” co-creator Trey Parker. Balthazar is a former child star who’s turned to a life of international crime and is still obsessed with the character he portrayed in the ‘80s. The formidable nemesis uses a Rubik’s Cube as a weapon, has a powerful keytar, moonwalks and dresses like a rockstar. »

Here’s the first official trailer for Despicable Me 3 which sees Gru back alongside his adorable Minions and daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes. This trailer joins the long list of Huge movies that are set for release in 2017 alongside Dunkirk which had its trailer release just an hour prior to this, War For the Planet of the Apes, Transformers: The Last Knight and Fast and Furious 8 to name but a few.

Despicable Me 3 is set for release in the UK June 30th and will no doubt be as fun and silly as the previous 2 two outings. Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig both return to voice characters Gru and Lucy Wilde alongside Miranda Cosgrove (Margo), Dana Gaier (Edith) and Nev Scharrel as Agnes. Russell Brand joins the cast as Dr. Nefario, a new edition to the franchise.
