A young woman's nightmares have deadly consequences in the real world in Legendary Comics and Rocketship Entertainment's new graphic novel Sleep Terrors. Written by Cavan Scott with artwork by Stephanie Son, Sleep Terrors is now on Kickstarter, and we've been provided with an exclusive preview to share with Daily Dead readers!
Here's what Cavan Scott had to say about the genesis for Sleep Terrors and some of the inspirations behind the graphic novel:
Have you ever been cut off on the road by another driver or had a stranger shout at you without provocation? It’s natural to feel aggrieved, and maybe even forgivable to hope that karma plays a hand in the day of the aggressor. That’s where the original spark for Sleep Terrors came from; the admittedly dark wish fulfillment that we could somehow magically take revenge on those who wrong us.

Legendary Comics announced today a new graphic novel, The Witches Of Silverlake, from singer-songwriter and actor Simon Curtis, with art by Stephanie Son, set for release in early 2021. The original story follows Elliot Green, who, after his dad dies, moves across the country to Los Angeles where his mother has accepted the position of Vice-Principal at one of the most prestigious private schools and where he is currently enrolled. He is quickly taken in by the school’s outcasts—the scholarship kids, the queer kids, and the ones who just don’t fit in with the glossy trust fund babies—and they let him in on their little secret: they’re witches. He ventures out into the world of crystal stores and occult shops in Silverlake, until one fateful day, he encounters an elderly shop owner who delivers a prophecy, warning him not to tap too deeply into real magic.

Head of ABC TV comedy Rick Kalowski has commissioned a stand-alone pilot, a prototype he intends to test for further pilots, and he.s developing a sitcom to be filmed in front of a studio audience.
In a further break from the traditional approach to comedy, Kalowski is developing several shows that are each built around an established performer-writer. All that is in addition to eight series which are either in production or post.
The stand-alone pilot deals with an unusual subject- mental illness. Details of that sitcom are under wraps but Kowalski tells If he.s looking for other projects that are suitable material for pilots.
The studio-based comedy could be the ABC.s first since Mother and Son, the Geoffrey Atherden-created classic which ran until 1994. The show is being developed with writer . producer Marieke Hardy and would...
