The tragic tale of love, pining forever, but never finding their happy ever after, is something that has inspired writers ever since Shakespeare with his tale of Romeo and Juliet. In India, we have an older version of this tale in Layla and Majnun first written down by Nizami Ganjavi in 1188. In Hollywood, countless movies seem to be made or inspired by Romeo and Juliet and of course how could Bollywood miss out on the chance to bring this to audiences with the story of Layla and Majnu. Whether it be Rishi Kapoor’s 1976 version, the brilliant nautanki in Madhuri Dixit’s Aaja Nachle or the recently released 2018 film Laila Majnu, the original great tale of Layla and Majnun, tells of the ill-fated lovers, brought together by love, divided by their families and driven mad by Majnun’s undying devotion for his Layla.

Prithibi Ghure that means – the earth revolves, and is a union of the north east and the south. It is a song sung by musician and composer Joi Barua and his dear friend, actor and musician Shruti Haasan. This fusion melody seems to be trending the online portals at the moment with keen insight being thrown onto the receptiveness of such musical content.
When asked about the collaboration, Joi says, “The song is essentially between two different cultures which are demographically and geographically far apart. It boils down to the man woman conflict of non understanding, but coexistence. The idea being that we might not be with each other in a physical state but will meet beyond, in the bigger universe.”
What started off as an experiment became a song that not only brought diverse cultures together but also highlights the importance of making more such music to promote Indian culture,...

2011 was a great year for music in the Hindi film industry with an eclectic mix of styles, moods, vibes, beats, fresh new sounds and cool grooves. The songs ranged from romantic ballads, to full on rock, to the playful, the funny, the traditional, the internationally flavored ones and everything in-between and even some with the track tinged with a little bit of each. So many of the soundtracks this year were so good that it was not just one song that was killer good, it was most of them. Because so many albums this year were such a good collection of brilliant songs, think Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Delhi Belly, Rockstar and more, we had a tough time limiting ourselves to 25 Best Songs of the year, so we thought why try and decided to go with 50! We now present the 50 best songs of 2011!

One of the films that many have on their I must go see this in the theater on July 15th list is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Why? Well, take Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, add in Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, plus it is all mixed together by the direction of Zoya Akhtar and what do you get? We are thinking a great movie. Of course, a great movie has to have fab music and Znmd has that in spades as well and Dil Dhadakne Do is placed right on top of the song list. It serves as an ideal starter with the crew throwing in everything they have. Nice punchy beat, some guitar chords and Suraj Jagan, Shankar Mahadevan and Joi Barua on vocals gives this song the whole Rock On treatment.
Check out the gorgeous scenery of Dil Dhadakne Do! We are not just talking about how cute Hrithik,...

The music of `Luv Ka...` is wholly packaged for GenNext. The album contains six tracks with mainly rock-pop feels. The music album kickstarts with "Freak out", which has already garnered popularity because of not only its music but it being the first song in Bollywood to use stop motion technology for the video.Sung by Aditi Singh Sharma and Joi Barua, the rock-pop song is foot-tapping and moderately-paced. The whistle in the background is interesting and lends creativity to the track that basically talks about the various aspects and factors in the lives of teenagers today. The next offering "Tonight" by Suman Sridhar, a slow, dreamy song about a young girl in love, has an undercurrent of jazz in the composition. Suman has crooned the song in a very different way making it stand out. A pleasing, entertaining number. Then comes in the title track of the film "Luv ka...
