- Oblivious to the fact that a film adaptation was in production 18 miles West of his apartment in Portland, Oregon, Adam first read the novel "Coraline" (written by Neil Gaiman) in December of 2007 after he and his wife viewed the film Stardust (2007) which was based on a book by the same author. The very next month, Adam was offered a position on the film Coraline (2009).
- As a child of the 80s, Adam grew up watching Toby Froud as the "Babe with the Power" in Jim Henson's Labyrinth (1986). In 2013, Adam was offered the position to work alongside Toby as visual effects supervisor on the short film Lessons Learned (2014), which was directed by Toby and executively produced by Henson's daughter Heather Henson.
- Adam and his daughter Natalie Sue Sager created Hallows' Eve and the Pumpkin Dream (2010) over the course of the two weeks leading up to Halloween in 2010. The short was shot entirely on their family's Canon PowerShot SD970. Adam setup a green-screen in their kitchen to shoot the composite shots.
- Adam and Kimbra first met on Instagram. After a series of emails and a lunch together in Portland, Oregon, the two combined their talents to create Kimbra's Wish: A Disney Tribute (2015), a musical short dedicated to the legacy of the late Walt Disney.
