First Full-Length Trailer for The Bling Ring with Emma Watson

24 April 2013 1:30 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring was announced as part of the Cannes Film Festival line-up last week, meaning that it will be making its world premiere in just a few weeks’ time.

The film sees Emma Watson return to the big screen after her first post-Harry Potter leading role last year in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. And, naturally, we’re all looking forward to seeing her in a character entirely different to what we’ve often seen her play.

The first teaser trailer surfaced last month, giving us a brilliant flavour of what’s to come in Coppola’s latest feature. And now the full-length trailer has debuted over at Yahoo Movies, giving a longer look at what we’ve got to look forward to this summer.

Emma Watson's Nikki steals from Paris Hilton in 'Bling Ring' trailer

23 April 2013 6:34 PM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

A new trailer for Emma Watson's new movie The Bling Ring has been released.

Watson stars in the Sofia Coppola-directed movie as Nikki, a member of a teenage burglary ring which successfully broke into the homes of numerous celebrities in the Hollywood Hills.

Nikki and her associates are seen raiding Paris Hilton's home in the new trailer, going through the socialite's walk-in wardrobe and stealing her shoes and clothes.

Watson recently branded Nikki as "superficial, materialistic, vain [and] amoral", but said that she relished the challenge of playing a character that she disliked so much.

Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Leslie Mann, Claire Julien, Georgia Rock and Carlos Miranda also star in The Bling Ring, which will screen out of competition as the opening film in the Cannes Film Festival's 'Un Certain Regard' strand.

The Bling Ring will be released on June 14 in the Us and on July 5 in the UK. »

Having returned to the big screen last year in her first leading performance since the conclusion of the Harry Potter franchise, Emma Watson is back once more this year in Sofia Coppola’s anticipated The Bling Ring.

We were treated to a rather brilliant first teaser trailer last month, which opted to go largely without any dialogue, and still managed to give a great sense of what we have to look forward to. And with its release date very much on the horizon, the first teaser poster has debuted online.

Inspired by actual events, a group of fame-obsessed teenagers, Rebecca, Marc, Nicki, Sam and Chloe, known as the Bling Ring, use the Internet to track celebrities’ whereabouts in order to rob their homes. Victims included Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Audrina Patridge, and Orlando Bloom.

Emma Watson: 'I hate my character in The Bling Ring'

3 April 2013 2:37 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Emma Watson has discussed her role in the movie The Bling Ring.

The actress plays Nicki, a pole-dancing, thieving 'Valley Vixen' involved in a circle that steals from famous people.

She said to GQ: "When I read the script and I realised that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it's become to our society, I had to do it.

"The character is everything that I felt strongly against - she's superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She's all of these things and I realised that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate?

"But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job, or my role as an actress, could be."

The film is directed by Sofia Coppola and involves a circle of teenage girls played by Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock and Carlos Miranda.

First Teaser Trailer for Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring with Emma Watson

11 March 2013 2:30 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring is undoubtedly a must-see movie this year, for so many reasons. It will see the Oscar-winning Coppola return behind the camera for the first time since 2010’s Somewhere. It’s led by the brilliant young Emma Watson, who has been making a great name for herself already in her post-Harry Potter career.

And, of course, it’s called The Bling Ring. With a title like that, and a cadre of filmmakers like it has, it’s unmissable cinema.

With its June release date now very much on the horizon, the first teaser trailer has debuted, giving us a great little look at the film. I think the thing that I love most about it is that it features almost no dialogue, and still helps us know just what to expect.

Watch: Teaser Trailer For Sofia Coppola's 'The Bling Ring' Starring Emma Watson Goes Shopping

8 March 2013 5:20 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

It looks like young people doing very bad things is going to be recurring theme this year. And the folks at A24 are more than happy to bring it you. Later this month, Harmony Korine and his group of young starlets tear up Florida in "Spring Breakers." Then this summer, Emma Watson joins another group of no good kids to steal and rob in "The Bling Ring" but there's one difference -- this is based on actual events. The first teaser for Sofia Coppola's film is here, and it's a stylistic left turn for the filmmaker. Known for her moodier efforts like "The Virgin Suicides," "Lost In Translation" and "Somewhere," this is pumped up by pushed-to-the-red sounds of "Crown On The Ground" by Sleigh Bells, and with a much more energetic, ripped-from-the-headlines vibe and in-the-moment feel (thanks to the surveillance style footage). Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock »

Release Dates Arrive For 'The Bling Ring,' 'The Spectacular Now,' 'Annie' & More

28 February 2013 10:23 AM, PST | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Get out your day planner and start making some adjustments. A couple of Sundance movies, a highly anticipated entry from an auteur, and some blockbusters are getting release dates. First up, Sofia Coppola's latest tale of bad girls, "The Bling Ring," is now stealing a June 14th bow as planned. The film stars Emma Watson alongside a group of smaller names-- Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Claire Pfister, Georgia Rock and Carlos Miranda (and Leslie Mann has a role too) -- in the based-on-a-true-story tale of a group of affluent teenagers who pulled off some brazen heists of celebrity homes, taking up to $3 million worth of goods. We'd wager a Cannes premiere (likely out of competition, or maybe in the edgier Un Certain Regard) is a strong possibility. Next up, James Ponsoldt's Sundance Film Festival sensation "The Spectacular Now" will arrive, curiously, at the end of summer on August 2nd. »
