Top Chefs Gather For City Harvest

City Harvest's 35th Anniversary Gala is set to take place at Cipriani 42nd Street on April 24th. José Andrés, Bill & Wendy Mills, Robin Hood, and Chrissy Teigen will be honored during the evening.

The gala raises funds to support City Harvest’s work rescuing good food that would otherwise go to waste and deliver it to New Yorkers in need.

The 35th Anniversary Gala Benefit Committee includes Alex Guarnaschelli, Anita Lo, Bill Telepan, Dana Cowin, Dominique Ansel, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Marc Murphy, Margaret and Geoffrey Zakarian, Rocco Dispirito, Ron Ben-Israel, Scott Conant, and Ted Allen.

Top Chefs Ask New Yorkers To Dine Out For Heroes With Bob Woodruff Foundation

Celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli — joined by Mario Batali, Rocco Dispirito, Tony Fortuna, Chris Santos, and Geoffrey Zakarian — is calling upon New York City’s restaurants and diners to honor our nation’s heroes this Veterans Day through the 4th Annual Dine Out for Heroes, a benefit for the Bob Woodruff Foundation.

The Food Network personality and executive chef of Butter Restaurant was drawn to the fundraiser for wounded veterans because of its simplicity.

“Dine Out for Heroes is a great way for restaurants to honor those who’ve served while offering diners the opportunity to enjoy a great meal. I am thrilled to lead a culinary council whose goal is to raise awareness for this important initiative,” said Guarnaschelli. “November 11th is Veterans Day and if you are planning on going out to dinner choose a restaurant that is participating in Dine Out For Heroes.”

‘Live With Kelly And Ryan’ To Welcome Digital Stars During YouTube-Themed Week

This week, a handful of the nation’s biggest YouTube stars are slated to hit daytime TV in a major way.

Live with Kelly and Ryan, the popular syndicated morning talk show, will host a YouTube-filled week kicking off on Aug. 7, during which top creators will discuss upcoming projects and participate in YouTube-style challenges with Ryan Seacrest and his guest co-hosts in a bid to further educate viewers about social video culture.

"Live has always been a very real, unscripted, unplugged kind of show, and what these digital personalities do so well is a great fit with the Live sensibility," executive producer Michael Gelman told Tubefilter. "Also, we love a good competition, and they’re masters of creating entertaining challenges for each other, which should make for great TV."

For the special themed week, Live worked with Metro Public Relations, and many of the PR firm’s clients are scheduled to appear.

Celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian has spent so much time on TV during the past decade that he’s decided to launch his own production venture, Corner Table Entertainment.

Zakarian, a regular on Food Network, has partnered with Key Group Worldwide in the company that will focus on scripted and unscripted projects for TV, digital and mobile outlets. Corner Table has a production space in midtown Manhattan complete with a kitchen.

“I am very excited to produce dynamic content for the modern audience,” Zakarian said. “I have a passion for discovering new talent as well as continuing to collaborate with established personalities in food, entertainment and lifestyle.”

Zakarian hosts Food Network’s competition series “Cooks Vs. Cons.” He’s also a regular judge on “Chopped” and has been an “Iron Chef” winner. As a restaurateur he’s known for New York’s Lambs Club and National eateries and Atlantic City’s Water Club.

Food Network’s ‘Cooks vs. Cons’ Will Return for Second Season

Food Network has put its reality-competition series “Cooks vs. Cons” back into production for a second season that will debut this summer.

The Scripps Networks-owned outlet said the series, currently in the midst of a six-episode debut run, has notched double-digit increases in viewers between 25 and 54 and in viewers between 25 and 34.

In the series, home cooks battle with trained professionals, whose true identities are concealed, for a panel of judges. Only after the panel’s decision is revealed do the contestants reveal who they really are. Chef Geoffrey Zakarian hosts the hour-long episodes. Judges have included Kardea Brown, Josh Elkin, Graham Elliot and Daphne Oz. They make decisions based on taste and presentation.
