'American Idol': Jason Castro gets soapy, big turnout in Nashville and more

Daytime Emmys 2010 winners list

"As the World Turns" took home some hardware in its penultimate Daytime Emmy ceremony. Michael Park and Maura West took home Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress, which was his first win and her second. "Atwt" also took home Outstanding Supporting Actress for Julie Pinson (pictured).

2010 Daytime Emmys welcome Ryan Seacrest, Wayne Brady, Vanessa Marcil and more

The 2010 Daytime Emmys are live from Las Vegas Sunday, June 27. Hosted by Regis Philbin, the awards are welcoming "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest to introduce an "American Bandstand" and Dick Clark tribute that will feature Chubby Checker, the Jersey Boys, Donny Osmond and Tony Orlando.

The telecast is also welcoming Wayne Brady, Vanessa Marcil, Jeff Foxworthy and Alex Trebek as presenters and a performance by the Las Vegas production of "The Lion King" musical.

Presenters previously announced include: Rachael Ray, Zack Conroy, Jonathan Jackson, Dr. Travis Stork, Dr. Drew Ordon, Dr. Jim Sears and Dr. Lisa Masterson from "The Doctors," Rebecca Budig, Sharon Case, Michael Easton, Jon Hensley, Kelley Menighan Hensley, Susan Lucci and many more.

'The Bold and the Beautiful' books Jason Castro
American Idol alum Jason Castro will make an appearance on CBS’ The Bold and The Beautiful in July. In an episode that he’ll tape next week at the sudser’s Los Angeles set, Castro will play himself and sing “Love Uncompromised” — a track off his self-titled debut album — in a scene involving Hope (Kimberly Matula) and Oliver (Zack Conroy).

Musicians routinely appear on CBS daytime soaps to showcase their work. Performers like Pat Benatar, Jewel, Enrique Iglesias, pianist Van Cliburn and opera singers Il Divo, for example, have dropped by The Young and the Restless, while Cyndi Lauper appeared on As The World Turns.

Zack Conroy Joins Cast of The Bold and the Beautiful

Zack Conroy is joining the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful.

The young actor, who has appeared on Gossip Girl and As the World Turns, will play Oliver Jones. The character is described by head writer Brad Bell as follows:

"Oliver is a leading man. He's someone who's in the music industry, with lots of ambition. But he's also a good guy who's going to be looking after his sister, Agie. Oliver and Agnes are very close and look out for each other. He's going to meet all these Forresters and Logans and hook up with Hope, but Steffy's going to be there to cause trouble."

Conroy will debut on January 20.
