Toni Collette, Molly Shannon to Star in ‘Fun Mom Dinner’ (Exclusive)

Katie Aselton, Toni Collette, Bridget Everett and Molly Shannon are starring in the ensemble comedy “Fun Mom Dinner” with shooting starting Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The film marks the directorial debut of Australian helmer Alethea Jones. Other cast members include Adam Scott (“Parks and Recreation”), Rob Huebel (“Transparent”), Adam Levine and Paul Rust.

Jones is directing from a script by Julie Yaeger Rudd, centering on four moms whose only common ground is their kids’ preschool class, who decide to get together for a harmless “fun mom dinner.” When the night suddenly takes an unexpected turn and things gets real, these unlikely new friends soon realize they have more in common than just marriage and motherhood.

June Pictures and Gettin’ Rad Productions are the production companies. Producers are June Pictures’ partners Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks with Gettin’ Rad’s Naomi Scott. Paul Rudd and Adam Scott will executive produce.

Finding Carter: Cancelled by MTV; No Season Three

Despite the fact that the show's creator had plans for season three, here won't be a third season of the Finding Carter TV show on MTV. The cable channel has cancelled the drama after 36 episodes.

On Finding Carter, a teenager (Kathryn Prescott) discovers that her beloved single mom actually abducted her as an infant and she's reunited with her birth family. The cast also includes Cynthia Watros, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Alexis Denisof, Zac Pullam, and Alex Saxon.

MTV’s ‘Finding Carter’ Canceled After 2 Seasons

Finding Carter” will not be returning for a third season.

Zac Pullam, who played Grant on the teen family drama, tweeted news about the cancellation on Friday.

Following Pullam’s tweet, Variety confirmed with an MTV spokesperson that the series is in fact canceled.

Debuting in summer 2014, “Finding Carter” wrapped its second season this past December, after 36 episodes in total. In its second season, the series averaged only 720,000 same-day viewers, according to Nielsen, down from 1.14 million for its first season in 2014.

Created by Terri Minsky and Emily Silver, the show starred Kathryn Prescott as a young girl who finds out that the woman she thought was her mother actually abducted her from her biological family when she was three years old.
