Cinemax’s ‘Banshee’ to come to an end after its fourth season

Cable channel Cinemax has seen its stature grow over the past few years with a number of shows that have garnered acclaim among critical television fans. One such show has been Banshee. Co-created by television newcomers Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, the show is executive produced by Alan Ball, and focuses on a small town in Pennsylvania where a recently released criminal posing as the sheriff tries to navigate his own past, the local criminal element, the Amish community, and the Native American community.

Many fans of the series were excited to learn that Cinemax had renewed the show for a fourth season earlier this year. The excitement, however, turned out to be bittersweet, as news has now emerged that the fourth season, which is currently in production, will be the show’s last. Eliza Dushku to Recur in Banshee Season 4

After being renewed for a fourth season by Cinemax in February, Banshee has been making the rounds with news of cast additions, such as Chris Coy and Matthew Rauch, who will both be series regulars in the show’s fourth season; Ana Ayora, who has signed on for an extensive Season 4 arc; and Casey Labow, who is set to recur on the series.
