Leah Sydney reports that the HBO party at the Pacific Design Center “is always the best, classiest, celeb filled of the night. HBO/Time Warner titans Richard Pepler, Jeff Bewkes, Michael Lombardi were all present. Martin Scorsese made an early appearance and left…Kate Winslet as well. Wall to wall celebs, executives, Hollywood power players. HBO always does it well. The wonderful William Hurt chatted with Paul Giamatti.

Mad Men” star Jon Hamm lost Best Actor in a Drama to Kyle Chandler of “Friday Night Lights.” “Mad Men” won Best Drama, however. Go figure. Hamm–whose film “Friends with Kids” will be distributed by Lions Gate next spring–says he wasn’t surprised about losing. “I’m not stranger to losing these things. It’s become expected for me. Kyle Chandler is truly a good friend of mine and I’m a major fan of that show. »
