Fun Size Review

30 October 2012 11:13 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

There is a lot of nostalgia held in old Nickelodeon films from our generation. Anyone around the age of 22 and under can clearly remember watching films such as Good Burger and Snow Day as a child, and it’s because of these memories that we fondly hold onto the television we grew up with. Many of my peers believe we grew up in the golden age of children’s cartoons, and although I partly agree, that’s an argument for a different time.

What is relevant is the fact that the networks have grown just as we have, aiming their entertainment at a whole new generation. Rather than producing shows like All That, Catdog, Doug, Kenan & Kel and countless others, many of the newer shows are tech obsessed, slightly narcissistic and just not as good. With the changing times comes a change to the films Nickelodeon chooses to make as well. »

The Office: Plans for Dwight Spin-off Cancelled

30 October 2012 8:35 AM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

When The Office ends next May, it looks like we'll be saying goodbye to all of the characters after all. Plans for The Farm spin-off have been cancelled.

The new show would have followed Rainn Wilson's Dwight at a Schrute family beet farm/bed and breakfast. The pilot also featured Majandra Delfino, Matt Jones, Mike Schur, Thomas Middleditch and Tom Bower.

Wilson broke the news via Twitter, writing, "Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show. Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!"

On the positive side, The Farm pilot will be shown as part of The Office's current ninth season.

What do you think? Are you disappointed that The Farm won't be a regular series? Would you have liked to see Dwight in a new setting or is it time for »

NBC Cancels Dwight Schrute's The Office Spin-Off

30 October 2012 2:49 AM, PDT | WorstPreviews.com | See recent Worst Previews news »

Back in January, NBC announced that it's moving forward with "The Farm," a spin-off of "The Office" that will focus on Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and his family running a bed-and-breakfast inn. The network went as far as casting and making the pilot episode. The goal was to conduct a test by airing the episode and then see if the show is worthy of getting a full season. But before "The Farm even premiered, NBC decided to cancel it. Thomas Middleditch (College Humor) will play Jeb Schrute, Dwight's brother. While Majandra Delfino will play Dwight's younger sister Frannie. The goal was to introduce some of the character on "The Office." No word if that will still happen. »

NBC Passes on Dwight Schrute ‘Office’ Spin-Off ‘The Farm’

29 October 2012 7:23 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Fans of The Office will either be devastated or stricken with great joy when you read this report. We’ve known that Rainn Wilson was starring in a potential new series tentatively titled The Farm featuring his peculiar Dwight Schrute character from The Office. The spin-off would follow his struggles running a bed and breakfast with his cooky family on his famous beet farm.

The cast also included Majandra DelfinoTom BowerThomas Middleditch, Matt Jones, Blake Garrett, and Michael Schur (Dwight’s cousin Mose from The Office), but apparently this line-up of talent – which also included The Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein (Toby) as executive producer – wasn’t good enough for NBC.

Rainn Wilson updated fans on Twitter saying: “NBC has passed on moving forward with ‘The Farm’ TV show. Had a blast making the pilot – onwards [and] ...

'The Office' spinoff 'The Farm' isn't happening, Rainn Wilson says

TThe Dwight-centered spinoff of "The Office" won't be coming to your television next season -- though you may get a taste of it later this season.

"The Farm" would have starred Rainn Wilson as Dwight in a show about him and several family members operating their beet farm and a bed and breakfast. Wilson tweeted Monday afternoon (Oct. 29) that NBC opted not to go forward with it: "NBC has passed on moving forward with 'The Farm' TV show. Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!"

As it stands, audiences will probably still see what might have been. "The Farm" was intended to air as a planted spinoff in an episode of "The Office" -- meaning it would be part of a regular episode.

"The Farm" also starred Majandra Delfino ("Roswell"), Blake Garrett, Thomas Middleditch, Tom Bower and Matt Jones. Former "Office" showrunner Paul Lieberstein wrote the pilot with Wilson. »

NBC Passes on Dwight Schrute’s The Office Spinoff The Farm

29 October 2012 4:06 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Though NBC’s long-running comedy series The Office is coming to an end after this season, some fans were comforted by the fact that a spinoff centered on Rainn Wilson’s Dwight character was in the works, providing hope for more Office-related material once the show had come to an end.  Well, it looks like the series finale of The Office really will be the end after all, as Wilson revealed today that NBC decided to pass on the pilot for the spinoff series The Farm.  Hit the jump for more. Wilson broke the news via his Twitter account today: Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show. Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards! — RainnWilson (@rainnwilson) October 29, 2012   The story follows Dwight as he runs a bed and breakfast inn, and an upcoming episode of The Office was set to act as a »

Rainn Wilson's Office Spinoff, The Farm, Not Picked Up by NBC

Don't quit your day job, Dwight (Rainn Wilson)! NBC has decided not to go forward with The Farm, a spinoff of The Office centering on Wilson's character Dwight Schrute running a bed and breakfast inn. Wilson broke the sad news to his fans on Twitter, saying, "Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show. Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!" Still, viewers will get to at least take one trip to The Farm as NBC will air the pilot episode as a backdoor pilot during The Office's final season. Roswell alum Majandra Delfino plays Dwight's sister Frannie in the episode, while CollegeHumor's Thomas Middleditch took on the role of his »

NBC Not Going Forward With Potential ‘Office’ Spinoff ‘The Farm’?

29 October 2012 3:08 PM, PDT | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

It looks like the series finale of The Office next spring will wrap the stories of all characters on the Emmy-winning workplace comedy. I hear NBC will not be proceeding with The Farm, its planned spinoff from The Office. The project, starring Rainn Wilson, was to be introduced as an episode of The Office this season before launching as its own series. It is unclear if that episode will still air. NBC is yet to confirm the news, but rumors about The Farm‘s demise started circulating just before lunch. Wilson then confirmed it on Twitter. “NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show,” he wrote. “Had a blast making the pilot – onwards & upwards!” The timing of NBC’s decision, if true, is surprising given that it comes before the spinoff episode has aired. The spinoff, created by Wilson and former Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein, has Dwight »

With the network's "The Office" in the middle of its ninth and final season, NBC had plans for a spinoff following Rainn Wilson's Dwight Schrute. "Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!" Matt Jones, Majandra Delfino, Thomas Middleditch and Blake Garrett were among those intended to become regular cast members on "The Farm" and there were plans to introduce several of them during an upcoming episode of "The Office." Running Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Rating: PG-13

Release Date: October 26, 2012

Plot: A high school girl (Justice) loses her younger brother (Nickoll) while being asked to babysit him on Halloween night.

Who’S It For? Fun Size is a rockier PG-13 than one might expect, so parents should keep that in mind before loading up the van with tweens and teens to multiplex world. For all you rebellious tweens, here’s something you might like.

Expectations: I had little idea of what to expect going in, except for the idea that this was Justice’s first movie. It’s always curious to see new headlining talent — would Justice prove herself to be something fresh? Is there any chance that this could be her Easy A?

The Office Welcomes Back Cousin Mose, Dead or Alive

2 September 2012 11:58 AM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

As the The Office spinoff comes closer and closer to being a reality, we can all take a little bit of comfort knowing Mike Schur, showrunner of Parks and Recreation and occasional actor, would rather see his character of Cousin Mose dead then live on to appear in The Farm. That seems a little harsh, though I can hardly blame him. The Farm has never been an idea that intrigues me and I would hardly think Schur would be interested in continuing his Mose character beyond The Office. Still, why would he want to kill him off? Does he really dislike the idea of the spinoff that much?

The truth is actually less than dark than that. Schur spoke with TVLine, explaining that while he will return to The Office one last time, he hopes that Mose will die – the idea being the pilot for The Farm would revolve around »

TVLine has learned exclusively that current Parks and Recreation showrunner — and former Office Ep — Mike Schur is set to reprise his role as Dwight’s oddball kin in the departing NBC comedy’s upcoming Schrute-centric episode/planted spin-off, “The Farm.”

No word yet on how Mose will figure into the half-hour, but in a recent interview with TVLine, Schur joked that he’s praying the Farm pilot revolves around Mose’s funeral. “That would be the best case scenario, I think,” he laughed. “If Mose was in a horrible tractor accident, »
