A year later, enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America, eventually graduating in 1996 with an Associate in Occupational Studies (A.O.S.). Also studied at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners in the Piedmont region.
Her niece was born in 2004.
Her sister, Jane Burrell, is a registered dietitian and the mother of three children.
