Amruta Khanvilkar Malhotra is an Indian actress. She was born in Mumbai into a Marathi family to Ajit and Gauri Khanvilkar. When she was a kid, her family shifted to Pune, where she studied at Karnataka High School and graduated from Marathwada Mitra Mandal College of Commerce.
She started her career in 2004 as a contestant on India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj. She has worked in many Hindi and Marathi movies and is one of the highest paid actors in Marathi industry. She won the seventh season of the dance reality show Nach Baliye with her husband Himmanshoo Malhotra.
In 2004, she started her career as a contestant on one of the first reality shows on Indian television, India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj, where she emerged as 1st runner up.
She made her Marathi movie debut from Goolmaal in 2006.
She is married to her longtime boyfriend Himmanshoo Malhotra in 2015, who was also part of India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj.
She made her Bollywood movie debut from Mumbai Salsa in 2007.
