Next week sees the release of Shark Night to Blu-ray / DVD and we have an exclusive clip from the Shark Attack! Kill Machine! feature, which includes two shark attack kills from the movie.

“The moment Sara (Sara Paxton) and her friends arrive at her parent’s Louisiana lake house, the party is in full gear. Everyone is having a blast until Malik (Sinqua Walls) loses his arm in what initially appears to be a tragic wake-boarding mishap. Determined to get him to the nearest hospital as quickly as possible, it isn’t until they’re far from shore that they realize the lake is teeming with hungry sharks, and a tiny speedboat isn’t about to stop them from getting their next meal. As the feeding frenzy begins, Sara and her pals realize that their only hope for survival is to swim for their lives!”

**Updated** Piranha 3Dd going Direct-to-Video?

30 December 2011 11:36 AM, PST | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

**Updated 12/31: Piranha 3Dd screenwriter Patrick Melton left us a note regarding the Us release: “No release before U.S. theatrical this spring. In 3Dd!!!” **

Original Story: Piranha 3Dd was originally slated to open in the Us this past November, but its release had been delayed. We were still expecting a new theatrical release date, but it appears that the UK theatrical run has been pulled and Piranha 3Dd is going direct-to-video. Will a Us release follow the same path?

The official British Video Association website lists a Piranha 3Dd theatrical release as being “Pulled From Schedule”, but notes a Blu-ray and DVD release on March 19, 2012. We’ll have more information the film’s Us release as soon as it becomes available. Here is the synopsis and cast/crew list from the Bva website:

Starring: Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Katrina Bowden, Danielle Panabaker, Gary Busey, Chris Zylka, Chelan Simmons, David Koechner, »

The Amazing Spider-Man Merchandise Offers First Official Look at the Lizard

30 December 2011 8:47 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Don't hate me, hate the candy! Merchandise for The Amazing Spider-Man has been first to bring the spoilers. In November, a Pez dispenser gave away Rhys Ifans as The Lizard. Then yesterday, a set of Mega Blocks confirmed that The Lizard will be turning a S.W.A.T. team into a crew of scaly monsters looking for a fight. Now, a Mini-Quad candy dispenser in the guise of a video game controller has brought the first "official" image of The Lizard. There is also a Lizard Racer filled with candy, and a slew of Hasbro action figure photos that offer another look at Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. You can check out the latest leaked The Amazing Spider-Man merchandise below.

The Amazing Spider-Man comes to theaters July 3rd, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Irrfan Khan, C. Thomas Howell. The film is directed by Marc Webb. »

Update: 'Piranha 3Dd's' Release In Question As UK Dumps Sequel Direct-To-Disc

30 December 2011 8:09 AM, PST | bloody-disgusting.com | See recent Bloody-Disgusting.com news »

According to the British Video Association, Dimension Films' Dimension 3Dd, the sequel to the remake that reteams Feast director John Gulager with writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, has been pulled from its UK theatrical slot and instead will be dumped direct-to-disc on March 9, 2012. While the news is being downplayed on other websites, this definitely has repercussions here in the States. In other words, if Dimension Films is to release Stateside, it'll need to be in theaters before March 9. This sounds a bit fishy. More news as it comes in; until then, inside you'll find the UK synopsis for the flick starring Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Meagan Tandy, Paul James Jordan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez, Clu Gulager, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, and even David Hasselhoff. »

Is John Gulagers Piranha 3Dd Sequel Set For Direct To DVD UK Release

30 December 2011 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

Well this is not overly welcome news if it turns out to be factual but it appears that the John Gulager helmed bitey sequel 'Piranha 3Dd' is swimming straight past UK theatres and instead going to hit DVD and Blu-ray. The Dimension Films sequel has been plagued with release issues of late and is being bumped constantly at the moment. So if the Bva are to be trusted the direct to DVD release will arrive in the UK on 19 March 2012. No word yet as to whether or not the Us will follow suit? But time will tell. Danielle Panabaker ('The Ward', 'The Crazies'), Chris Zylka ('Shark Night 3-D'), Meagan Tandy ('Unstoppable'), David Koechner ('Final Destination 5'), Matt Bush, Paul James Jordan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer, Clu Gulager, Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd and the sexy Katrina Bowden »

‘Piranha 3Dd’ going Dtv?

30 December 2011 4:00 AM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Some rather strange news has emerged today regarding the UK release of Piranha 3Dd, the sequel to Alexander Aja’s 2010 original. It seems UK distributor Ev has pulled the movies planned theatrical release and will instead debut the film on Blu-ray and DVD on March 19th 2012. A quick check of the Bva website confirms the story: http://www.bva.org.uk/node/1575877

Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Thought they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and »

A bit of odd news coming out of the UK: The John Gulager directed sequel to Alexandre Aja's Piranha has been pulled from the UK's theatrical release schedule and will be heading straight to DVD across the pond on March 19th, 2012.

What does this mean for the domestic release of Piranha 3Dd? Well, probably nothing, but we'll be keeping a close eye on things for you just in case. When we know something, you'll know.

Piranha 3Dd reteams Feast director John Gulager and writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan in the sequel starring Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Meagan Tandy, Paul James Jordan, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez, Clu Gulager, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden, Christopher Lloyd, Ving Rhames, Paul Scheer and David Hasselhoff.

If you're missing "The Secret Circle," don't worry -- you're not alone. Even executive producer Andrew Miller is counting down the minutes to the January 5 mid-season premiere. We caught up with him for a bit of a check-in now that the freshman series has found its footing, and he admitted that the hiatus is getting under his skin a bit.

"It's so weird!" he laughs. "We're used to seeing a response from the audience so quickly, and being able to read Price Peterson's recaps."

Miller is, of course, referring to the laugh-out-loud funny recaps that Peterson does for TV.com (they're so good, you guys). But you don't have to be a big-time internet celebrity like Peterson to catch the attention of "The Secret Circle" writers -- they're always checking what fans are saying on twitter, on forums, and in their elaborate fan videos.
